Got the newsletter done around 1:15 today.  Lynn came over at 9:00 to help me finish it.  Mary came a little after 10:00 and Jane came at 11:30.  It goes so much faster with four sets of hands.

I made hamburger soup with beer bread muffins for lunch.  Both are easy to make and as the cold front and wind moved in a hot soup was a good thing to eat today.

Gertrude, my left foot, is swollen again today and a bit cranky.  Not sure why she keeps swelling.  I am nine weeks out from surgery and I didn’t expect it to start swelling at this point.

My guest came in late last night, dropped off his stuff and left.  He returned to my house a bit after midnight.  He left this morning a little after 9:00 and came back for a while this afternoon.  I only talked to hm briefly when he needed some more bottles of water.  He left again after that and I don’t expect him back until late again tonight.  He will be leaving sometime in the morning tomorrow.  He has been an easy guest since he hasn’t been here much.

Tomorrow I will get his room cleaned up and the sheets on my bed changed out.  I hope to be on the road before noon tomorrow.  I am taking a detour to pick up some deck paint in Chandler, OK.  I should be with Jim by 4:00.

I made a big batch of Chex Mix today.  I wanted to get the first batch done before my next surgery as lifting things in and out of the oven is hard to do when I am on crutches.  It is cooling on the counter now and I will bag it up and freeze it when I am done blogging.

I was disappointed the jewelry store didn’t call me today to tell me Mom’s ring was ready to be picked up.  They were to have had it done yesterday and I haven’t heard from them yet.  Still hoping I will get called for tomorrow morning so I can see it before I leave for over a week.

The weather did an about face today.  It was 72 degrees mid morning but is now only  41.  It is to keep dropping over night and there is a freeze warning out.  The high for tomorrow is only to be 50.  Thankfully it is to warm back up on Saturday.  Feels like we are going directly from summer to winter this year. Not looking forward to the upcoming cold weather.  It has been very windy today.  I was hoping I could paint this afternoon but it was too cold and windy for that.

The house feels very quiet to me tonight.  It was nice to have some friends come over and help me finish up the Newsletter today.  I have been out of touch with so many of my local friends lately.  It was good to catch up a bit with some of them.

Grateful to have been in service today through my work on the Newsletter project, grateful my house is nice and warm this evening, and grateful I get to see Jim tomorrow.
