Jim had internet problems during his class today. So frustrating. He got kicked off the call when the internet dropped two different times. He was a fried puppy when the class was done as it interrupted the flow of his lecture – twice. I sure hope we can get the router situation fixed soon. I sent the company a letter today but not sure what they will do about it – if anything.
I didn’t make it in to paint this morning. I’m still not feeling 100% yet. When I went down to do the chicken chores this morning the wind hit my ear and I literally yelled in pain. I called my doctor’s office and they told me to go to Express Care. I went in after Jim’s class was over this afternoon. I have lots of fluid behind the ear and the tube is swollen and one of the ear drums is red. She called in some ear drops for me. The pharmacy was backed up and I didn’t want to wait an hour for them so will go in tomorrow morning to pick them up.
I am making spaghetti and meat balls for dinner. I will have my sauce over a spaghetti squash and Jim will have the traditional spaghetti noodles. I took some of the sauce in to Michelle’s family as I made way too much for us. I baked chocolate chip cookies this afternoon so took the kiddos a bag of those and also dropped a bag off at Jason’s house.
Jim’s car was fixed today. After class I drove him in to pick it up. A rat had chewed through the clutch hose and the hose had to be replaced. He has spent a lot of money on his two cars this month. Glad it was a relatively easy fix.
I worked the hot line last night and handled four long calls. All four of them needed a supervisor to be involved due to the high risk of the texters. Some of the people were challenging as they were high risk but didn’t want to problem solve. None of them felt good to me when I was done with them. Some people are harder to help than others. I will never know the final outcome of any of them. Glad every night is not like last night.
I have a shift tonight to work. They are already busy and have lots of texters waiting. I will get on after dinner and get my two hours put in. I didn’t take a nap today so can’t stay up late tonight.
I’m starting to feel the pressure of not getting into the house in town to work on it. Trusting I will feel better soon and have the energy to work on it. We are to get rain starting tomorrow morning and it is to rain most of the weekend. That will make good painting weather so trusting I will feel better sometime this weekend and get some work done. The sooner I can get after the painting the sooner we can rent the place out.
We got 28 eggs from the 29 girls today – not bad. I have 5 dozen eggs in the refrigerator that need a home. Anyone need eggs?
Nothing on the calendar now until next week. I do need to remember to give myself my cholesterol shots tomorrow night but other than that we are free of any responsibilities. Sure hoping we will make it into town to work on the new investment property. Jim will need to start getting his lecture ready for next Thursday. He didn’t get near as far as he wanted to today so maybe he has a lot of it done already.
Jim and I are both fully protected from COVID today as it was two weeks ago that we got our second shots. What a relief that is. Not sure much will change for us but I do feel much more comfortable being around the kids and grandkids. Not ready to travel yet but nice to know we could if we had to.
Grateful for the compassionate care from the nurse that saw me today, grateful Jim’s car is fixed and home, and grateful for empty space this weekend.
