It has been a busy day on the prairie.  I got up early and cleaned out the intern’s room and moved his stuff to another bedroom for him to stay in for the night.  Got his room and bathroom cleaned, sheets washed and put back on the bed and the downstairs cleaned this morning.

I cleaned the upstairs and then went out and mowed the entire yard.  I still need to do the weed eating but the mowing part is done.  I got kissed by the sun a bit while I was mowing today.  I forgot to wear my sun hat.  Got the farmer’s tan look going on now.

My first two guests arrived around 2:30.  I was almost ready for them!  They had two other people with them.  They all took a tour of the house and moved their stuff in and then left.  They are nice people and I will enjoy having them here.  Not sure what their plans are for the evening or tomorrow.

Jim is coming later this evening.  He got a late start and then forgot a sander and had to go back home and start over.  It will be good to see him.

I went over to my neighbor’s house this morning and picked up a coconut cream pie for my son-in-law’s birthday cake.  She makes the best pies!  When I get done writing I will run it in to him.  I discovered I forgot something for the soup I am making tomorrow and need to pick that up so need to go to town anyways.

Tomorrow afternoon I am going to Manhattan while Jim stays here to greet guests.  I have six more people checking in tomorrow afternoon.  It will be another busy day on the prairie.  Saturday we all go to the Symphony after I fix us all breakfast and we will get home late.  Sunday I fix breakfast again and then six of the eight will depart. Two are staying until Monday morning.

It has been another perfect day on the prairie.  Lots of sunshine and blue skies, very light breeze and only in the upper 70’s.  Love this type of summer weather.

Grateful the house is cleaned and the yard is mowed, grateful for a neighbor that shares her baking skills, and grateful for Tim – he adds a lot of joy and love to my family.
