Busy day today! We left around 10:45 to head to Oklahoma City to go to Subaru school. The lady that worked with me was good. I learned how to turn off most of the automatic systems that beep at you when you do something they don’t like. She was able to answer all of my questions except explain why the blind spot detector is inconsistent. I made an appointment with service to have them check it out. I’ll have to go back a week from tomorrow to take it in.
The lady gave me a $25 gift card to On Cue, a local convenience store/gas station and a coupon for $50 in Subaru merchandise.
We went to Costco when we were done with Subaru school. Got the cups, plates and nuts for the two wedding receptions we will be hosting. Ended up with a cart full of stuff. Not sure what all we bought. I get into trouble going in that store. Somehow I always come out with stuff I didn’t know I needed.
Next stop was REI. I got a day pack for hiking and a warm pair of gloves. Jim got a hat and a water bottle.
We stopped at a place called Tucker’s Onion Burgers for lunch. They had great hamburgers – I had a turkey burger wrapped in a lettuce leaf.
The drive home was nice – no beeps! I was able to turn off the automatic cruise control that slows you down if there is a car in front of you. I also was able to turn off the lane departure system. Jim appreciated the lack of beeps on the way home!
When we got home after we unloaded the car I painted the inside of two cabinets. Jim worked on fixing the bay for the new dishwasher. After dinner I painted the bay and the adjoining cabinet. All the lower cabinets are painted and one of the upper ones. Lots more to go but progress is being made.
Tomorrow Jim has to cut the holes to put the water line and waste water line in the cabinet next to the bay. He also has to trim the edge of the counter as it is 1/4 inch too tall for the dishwasher to fit in properly. After that he can hook the lines up and get the thing in place. We got some dishwasher detergent and rinse aide at Costco today so we are ready to let the new dishwasher help us out.
I will work on painting some more upper cabinets tomorrow. 10 more to go! Six done! Some of the cabinets are high and I will have to be on a ladder. That will slow me down a bit. We are sorting the stuff that has been in the cabinets and throwing some of it out. We have found treasures Jim forgot he had.
We don’t have any plans for the weekend other than continuing to work on the kitchen. An electrician is to come tomorrow to run a plug for the microwave so we can then get that hung up. I got that cabinet painted today so it is ready to be hung.
Monday I start doing taxes. The managers called me again today. They are trying to get my password situation fixed. Sure trust that come Monday I will be able to get on and do the taxes without a problem.
Feeling good about the wedding plans. Unless I have forgotten something I think I am going to meet my goal of having everything planned before I start doing taxes Monday. Still waiting on a few things to arrive but trusting when they do they will work.
Grateful for Subaru School and the knowledge it provided me so I can manage my car, grateful some more cabinets got painted today, and grateful more wedding items were purchased today.
