Had a busy day today.  The electricians showed up before 9:00 this morning.  Jim had them add some plug ins to the bedroom, kitchen and back room.  They also added a plug for the new dishwasher.  They didn’t finish until after 3:00 although they were gone for almost two hours during the middle of the day.

A third photographer called me this morning to give me a bid.  He was over an hour late calling and he was later last night than he said he would be.  I don’t think I will go with him even though his bid was $25 less than the prompt person.  I don’t want to have to worry if they are going to show up or not.

I went to tax school this afternoon.  Other than getting my ID number it was a waste of time.  We were supposed to get a tutorial lesson on how to use the Chromebooks but they don’t have enough to go around and the guy teaching the class was a bit clueless.  I can go in next week on Monday or Wednesday and play with one on my own.  Thinking I will do that.

I did get a quick chance to visit with one of the other new volunteers.  She had not been impressed with the training either.  I said something about next year and she said she wasn’t sure she would be back.  Trusting she will get the support needed and will have a good experience actually doing the returns.  She is a retired accountant so has the expertise they can use.

We met with the preacher for our second marriage counseling session.  We got the results of our personality tests back.  She had us predict our weak area and we nailed that.  The results were interesting but expected.  She gave us some homework to do before we meet with her again in two weeks.

She gave us the church’s wedding rules.  I asked her a lot of logistic questions.  I need to find a woman from the church that has helped with receptions before and knows the kitchen we will be using.  They have most everything I need but need to pick out the table cloths I want to use ahead of time.  Trusting a few women from Jim’s choir will agree to help us serve and set things up for us.

Came home after the meeting with the preacher and put the kitchen back together again.  The electricians had to move a bunch of stuff to do their work.  We moved some items Jim never uses to the high shelves to find room to put some more stuff away and clear off the kitchen counter tops.  The kitchen looks better.  It would look even better if the stuff that is never used could be removed but Jim isn’t ready to do that yet.

The invitations to our reception in Strong City came in today.  I thought I ordered the same design as the wedding invitations but the reception ones are much bigger.  Luckily they are below the limit that would require extra postage.  Not sure how I got a bigger size – oh well.  They will work.

I got most of them addressed and hope Jim will finish the wedding invitations this weekend so we can get them all mailed the first of the week.  That will feel good to have them in the mail.

The lady at the Subaru dealership that is going to teach me how to manage all the systems in my new car called today and needed to change our appointment.  We are going on Thursday next week instead of Tuesday.

Jim is at a meeting of some sort right now.  I need to get dinner started soon so it will be ready when he gets home.

Tomorrow we meet with the bakery and will order the cake for the wedding.  I think we are going to Langston afterwards.  Jim wants to deliver some letters to some staff there that he doesn’t have their home address.  He wants to introduce me to some of his friends there too.

Saturday a friend of Jim’s is getting promoted and having a pinning ceremony.  His friend is in the Army Reserves.

Grateful the reception invitations are ready to mail, grateful for our session with the preacher – she is fun to visit with, and grateful the electrician was able to finish there job today.  One big step taken to get this house finished!
