Home on my beloved prairie again!  It fees so good to have lots of breathing space again.  The trip north was smooth and easy and the roads were nice and clear.  Seems funny to see snow again – Oklahoma hasn’t had much.

We got into Emporia about 15 minutes early for my appointment with my accountant.  I passed off my taxes to him.  He is going to estimate my tax liability for 2020 so Jim and I know how much we need taken out when we combine incomes.  I have a nice tax credit coming as a result of the solar panels that were installed last year.  I am hoping we won’t owe any taxes for 2020 as a result.  I didn’t pay much last year and am not expecting to have to pay much this year.

We stopped at Walmart and picked up a few groceries after we were done with the accountant.  It was so nice to get back home on the prairie.  My soul needs the breathing space this place offers me.  The wide open spaces fill my heart and soul.

We are going to Ad Astra for dinner tonight at 6:00.  Neither one of us could think of something to fix for dinner while we were at Walmart and decided we would eat out for Valentine’s Day tonight.  The restaurants will be full tomorrow night.

I have to go into Emporia for a 10:00 haircut tomorrow morning.  We will stop and get some cash to pay the housesitter and get critter food while we are in town.  Saturday we go back into Emporia so we can watch Ellexia compete in a gymnastic meet.  Luckily she has two events fairly close together so we will get to see two of her three events.  Sunday if the roads are clear Jim wants to go to Manhattan to check out the Presbyterian Church there.  Monday we go back to Stillwater.  The time here will go fast!

Yesterday two different dresses came in.  I tried both of them on last night and both fit and look nice.  Either one of them will do as my wedding dress!  YAY!  I can cross that off my list.

I tried the dresses on while Jim was at choir practice.  I didn’t feel like getting dressed again so I took hot bath.  I laid down afterwards as I was a bit lightheaded and fell asleep.  I slept from 8:15 last night until 7:15 this morning!  Wow!  I haven’t gotten that much sleep without being on drugs or sick in a long time.  I was over due to crash.  Jim said he kept checking on me as it is unusual that I sleep that long and that hard.

We brought a car load of stuff from Stillwater to KS.  Each time we come we bring a full car load.  Wonder how many car loads it will take before the house in Stillwater starts to look like we have taken stuff out of it?  Can’t believe how much stuff we still have to bring and how many loads it will take.  We will eventually need to rent a U-Haul truck to bring the bigger stuff.  Thinking we will need a big truck!

Not sure Jim has wrapped his head around the fact that he is moving to KS sometime this year.  It will be a huge change for him.  We still may have to go to Plan B – what ever that is.

Almost time for our dinner reservation.  Best get myself ready to go.  It is hard to get back in the car after just getting here but we won’t be gone long tonight.

Grateful to be back home on the prairie, grateful for a safe journey, and grateful I found my wedding dress.
