Had a very rough night last night.  Had more pain than I have had since I had surgery.  Thinking my foot got used to not being used and was protesting the movement I did yesterday.  I took some ibuprofen and then finally broke down and took a pain pill.  Unfortunately the pain pill didn’t help me sleep much but it did help the foot calm down enough that I got two hours of sleep.

The foot is much calmer today.  I took a nap this afternoon to catch up on some missed sleep.  I get an occasional twinge in my foot but it isn’t screaming all the time.

Ordered a new washing machine today.  It will delivered the afternoon on the day I get back to KS.

Found a place to go to physical therapy starting Monday here in OIK.  I need to get four sessions in before my Sept 4 Doctor’s appointment.  The first place I called couldn’t get me in until a week from today and didn’t accept my supplemental medical insurance.  The second place got me in Monday and accepts my insurance.

We did go out and bought groceries today.  I needed some more bandage tape as I have to wrap my foot with that stretchy medical tape.  Also got some Epson salts for my daily evening bath.  It felt so good to soak my foot last night.

Worked on some embroidery work today but other than that have done almost nothing.  One advantage to being at Jim’s house is I don’t see lots of things I wish I could be doing.  It is easier to just sit and do nothing.  I’m getting good at that!

Jim reports his hand has not been painful today.  He is to leave the splint on it for another 24 hours and then can take it off.  When we were at the grocery store strangers were commenting on the two of us having injuries.  We need to make up a good story about them I guess.

Grateful for pain pills and the relief they provide, grateful for physical therapy places, and grateful Jim’s hand is healing quickly.
