July flew by so quickly. Hard to believe a month ago today I was in Costa Rica starting my adventure there. In some ways that feels like it was months ago and other ways like it was yesterday. I don’t have a good relationship with time these days and don’t trust I can judge how long ago something happened.
I was going to meet up with Tagen for lunch at noon. I decided to go to town early so I could get some fabric to make some aprons. I took Michelle some peaches and hamburger and decided to drop it by her house before I went shopping since it is so hot outside. Tagen and Ellexia were up and moving and decided they wanted to eat early.
We went by the Tech College and paid the last of Tagen’s fees that are due before school starts August 12. He was awarded a $500 scholarship as he got all A’s this summer. That was nice!
I took advantage of having some muscles with me and went to Walmart and picked up two big bags of dog food, two cases of water, a heavy container of kitty litter and a big bag of cat food. Tagen lifted that stuff into my cart like it didn’t weigh anything. He lifted it out of the cart and into my car. Wished I could have brought him home with me to get it inside the house.
We went to Bobby D’s for lunch. Jason was available so he joined us too. I had a delightful meal with all of them. Service was fast and the food was good.
I took Tagen home after lunch and Ellexia and I went to the store to find some fabric so I can make some aprons. We found some and got that and the thread to make them with and then came to my house. She is going to spend the night and I will take her home tomorrow when I go in for exercise. She helped me get some of the stuff into the house. Kathy got the wheelbarrow and we loaded the two big bags of dog food in it to take around to the back door and put inside the back porch. Good to be restocked on critter feed and supplies for a bit.
Ellexia and I are chilling inside this afternoon. I took Sophia for a walk so she could do her afternoon business. It was too hot for Ellexia to go with us. We might venture to Dollar General in a bit to get some food for dinner. Not sure I have much kid friendly food in the house right now.
I got the title to the new car in the mail today. Early next week I will go to the Court House and get my license plate.
I got an email from the travel insurance company today requesting more information so they can pay out the claim. I had gotten a similar one from them last week and then the next day they sent another email saying the claim had been approved and the funds will be deposited in my account. I think I will wait another day or two to respond and see if they reverse themselves again.
Still haven’t heard from the meat locker in Olpe. Not sure what is going on there. I will call them Monday if I haven’t heard from them by then. Sure trusting the meat will be ready by Tuesday so I can take Nicole her part of it when I go to KC for the exercise program testing.
No plans for the weekend. I am hoping to get two stay at home days back to back. I haven’t gotten one of those this week and need them. I don’t have to go to town Monday for exercise as we moved it to Thursday. Maybe I will go for a trifecta and get three stay at home days in a row.
It was fun to have lunch with my crew today. I so enjoy any time I can spend with my kids and grandkids. The grands are so grown up and are so well behaved.
I am tired this afternoon. I think if Ellexia wasn’t here I would take a nap. I had trouble finding sleep again last night. Maybe tonight is the night where I can sleep. I never know from night to night how hard it will be to find sleep.
I didn’t get drained while I was in town today which is progress. I hit the traffic construction site at bad times and had to wait for 10 – 15 minutes each way. Sure will be glad when that project gets completed and it only takes the normal time to get to town.
Grateful for time with part of my family today for lunch, grateful Ellexia came home with me to spend the night, and grateful Tagen’s college fees are paid and he is ready to start his second year soon.
