I was busy this morning getting packed and ready to leave for ten days. Had lots of little loose ends to tie up. I didn’t get as much cleaning done as I wanted to but I think I managed to bring everything I needed. I’ll find out during the week if I forgot something important.

I got to Stillwater around 6:00. It was good to see Jim again. We sat outside on the deck for about five minutes and got about ten mosquito bites. I came inside to save my body. The mosquitos are big and hungry tonight.

We plan on leaving for NC around 8:30 in the morning. We are only going to drive about eight to ten hours tomorrow so no real rush to get on the road. Trusting there won’t be lots of traffic to slow us down. I will have to remember to get out and walk every time we stop so my foot can stretch out a bit. It got sore from sitting in the car for the three hour drive down here today.

There was a nice thunderstorm last night. I love hearing the thunder roll over the hills at night. At times there would be a sharp lightning which would immediately be followed by a thunder clap. I don’t think we got lots of rain out of it though. I was glad the fresh dirt in the back yard got sprinkled on at least. Maybe it won’t all blow away if the wind picks up again.

I need to remember to do my foot exercises tonight. I brought my sack of marbles I am to pick up with my big toe each night. The sack has 50 marbles in it and it takes me a bit to pick them up. My toe hurts when I use it like that. It is easier to exercise the toe when I have something to do with it rather than just moving it up and down.

Grateful for a safe trip today, grateful for cream to put on mosquito bites so they don’t itch so much, and grateful to be with Jim again.
