Had a very non-productive day yesterday. Didn’t get much done. Guess it is OK to take a day once in a while and do nothing. We did run into Emporia and get dog food, sunflower seeds and oats. Organized and filled the chicken feed containers when we got home.
I found a dead chicken in the coop yesterday afternoon. I never know what happens to them to cause them to die. I need to give some serious thought to doing away with this group of chickens and getting some new chicks come springtime. These girls are four years old and not laying well any longer.
Today a friend came to visit from Salina. Always good to see her. We went into Strong City and had lunch with other mutual friends. Jim went to church in Emporia and then joined us for lunch. I dropped off lots of recycling stuff and came home after lunch. Finished a baby blanket I have been knitting. I did change and wash the sheets on my bed this morning but today is not looking very productive either. I may get out and paint for a bit yet this afternoon.
Tomorrow Jim will head back to Stillwater. It always feels a bit lonelier and quieter when he goes home. Grateful Kathy will be here to keep me company this week. I have a fairly quiet week this week. Monday the electrician is coming to switch out the breakers. Tagen has a football game in the afternoon he is to play in that I want to go watch. Tuesday I have to go to Verizon to switch my phone plan. Wednesday I have my last scheduled physical therapy session. Jim will be back Friday. I hope to get the rest of my house detailed clean this week and get that project crossed off my list.
I have a guest coming this Friday but he will only be here for one night. His room is already cleaned and ready for him.
Broke down and turned the air back on. It is only 85 out but the humidity is thick and it was sticky feeling in the house. A cold front is coming in Wednesday and the high is not forecast to be over 70 for several days after that. I welcome the cooler, more fall like weather.
Grateful for a visit from my friend, grateful to getting some things on my to do list crossed off, and grateful for air conditioning that makes the house much more comfortable.
