Melissa and her mother came out today and we finalized the wedding plans. I am fixing a light lunch and then a dinner. We should have about 35 people so it won’t be too big of an event. It will be fun to host their wedding and serve the meals.
I am going to having Bobby D’s cater the dinner. Melissa is making cheesy potatoes and Bobby D’s will bring the meat, beans and broccoli salad. I will make a couple of desserts and call it good.
For lunch I am fixing meatballs in BBQ sauce, potato salad, and deviled eggs. Melissa’s mom is bringing a veggie tray and a hamburger dip with chips. We may come up with a few more things before the wedding day – we will see what happens.
After the wedding we will serve cake and punch. Melissa is making cupcakes and decorating them using her peacock theme. Hoping the guests can stick around and enjoy dinner with us too.
Jim took me to town to get some groceries since my car is not drivable right now. I was out of yogurt and fresh fruit. They had Jonathan apples today – yay! That is the only apple I like to eat. I bought two bags full. I love to fry them or eat them raw. I ate one when I got home. I will be anxious to see how my tummy acts with me eating them raw. So far – so good.
I went out late afternoon and finished painting a part of the deck that has been bugging me for a long time. It is good to have that done. Next up is to finish the black trim. If I have time before the wedding the swing set needs repainted. We will see what the weather does and how my time management skills are. I should be able to get it done.
Jim has worked this late afternoon washing the deck below and getting rid of the bird nests that were in the rafters of the deck. He is going to wash the windows and get rid of the bird poop. The birds have migrated elsewhere so it should stay clean now.
My blood pressure dropped while I was painting. I had to come in and sit for a bit. Not sure why I am having trouble with that lately. I blame everything on my missing thyroid but not sure I can this time as my thyroid levels are good. It goes down to 80/45. This afternoon it recovered quicker than it did last time I dropped it. Not sure if the heat had anything to do with it or if something else is going on. I wish I had an owner’s manual for my body with a trouble shooting guide.
Ellexia requested Chex Mix this week instead of cookies so got the ingredients to make that when I went to town. The grocery store was out of Rice Chex. I had one box at home so will make do with that. I have it mixed and baking now.
I am fixing tacos for dinner tonight so that will be a quick dinner to fix. I will grill a hamburger for me but Jim will get the real deal. It is one of his favorite meals.
Not sure if Jim is going to Stillwater tomorrow now that he has to take me to Topeka to get my car. I will ask the tow truck driver if I can ride along to Topeka with him. If not, Jim will have to take me. He may just keep on going down the turnpike and go to Stillwater from Topeka. Part of it will depend on what time things happen. I haven’t heard from the towing company yet so am a bit concerned they won’t show up early tomorrow morning. I may try to call tonight and see if I can find out what is happening. Hard to plan when I don’t know what they are doing. It won’t take long to fix the car once it gets to the dealer. Trusting it will get fixed tomorrow and I will get it home somehow tomorrow too.
Tuesday I am getting my hair cut. I assume Jim will be in Stillwater by then and will stay for a week or so. I will continue to paint and clean. We are to get some rain Tuesday and Wednesday so may do more cleaning than painting if that happens. Both need done so I will flex as needed.
Grateful the wedding plans are made, grateful I get to host the wedding, and grateful some deck painting got done today.
