Another night of little sleep.  I was just getting used to sleeping most nights and now I have had four nights in a row of little sleep.  Sigh!!!

Made a batch of fudge this morning.  It looks like it turned out just about right.  It probably could have cooked for one or two more minutes but I would rather have it just a bit soft than a bit too dry.  Jim helped me beat it after is was done cooking.

After the fudge was made we made a double batch of sugar cookies.  I got light-headed for some reason and was having trouble standing to roll out the cookies.  Jim took over and rolled and cut most of the cookies.  When over half of them were baked I made a big batch of frosting and sat at the table and frosted while Jim finished rolling and cutting. We managed to get them all done.  Have over 200 sugar cookies made and frosted.  Glad they are crossed off my to do list.

When we were done with the cookies I was a mess.  I had flour and powdered sugar all over the floor and on my pants.  Jim didn’t have a bit of flour on him.  Guess I should have watched him closer and taken lessons.  I do know how to make messes in my kitchen.

Sat outside and watched the sunset until I got too cold and had to come in.  It was a perfect fall evening on the prairie tonight.  I love the orange and turquoise colors of a Kansas fall sunset.

After dinner we sat on the couch and both of us fell asleep for a short bit.  It isn’t even 9:00 and I am ready to go to bed.  Decided to wait until at least 9:00 before I take my bath and than go to bed.

Tomorrow I need to call the Vet in the morning.  Roxy has an ingrown toe nail that needs attention.  I also have to go into town to go to physical therapy in the afternoon.  Not sure if we will make two trips to town tomorrow or manage to get both things done in one trip.  Jim wants to get some sanding done and I hate to take him away from that project to run me to town twice.  He helped me with cookies today instead of sanding.

I had forgotten about New Year’s Cookies and Bourbon Slush so need to pick up the ingredients to make those two things sometime this week.  I am trying to avoid going to town on Friday except for physical therapy.  I avoid the stores on Black Friday.  No bargain is worth fighting the crowds.

Still having trouble thinking we are celebrating Christmas this year with our Thanksgiving feast on Saturday.  I have my shopping done but need to wrap a few more presents.  Glad I got most of the wrapping done before surgery.

I still have room for more people for Thanksgiving Day dinner if you want to come join us.  We are having a ham dinner at 1:00. No reservations needed – just show up.  I will have plenty of food!

Managed to use the crutch most of the day.  I did take more steps than I should have without the use of the crutch.  It is so hard to do much without a free hand.  My foot is fairly quiet tonight although both of them were cranky last night.

Grateful for a successful batch of fudge made, grateful the sugar cookies are done and grateful Jim helped me with both!
