We had a 5:45 wake up call this morning.  Had to have our bags out in front of our hotel room door by 6:15.  We had breakfast and left the hotel by 7:00.
We made three stops on the seven hour bus ride to Christchurch from Dunedin.  Each stop was between 15 and 30 minutes.
Got to the airport at 2:00 and got through check in and to our gate in time to get a quick bite for lunch before we started boarding.  It is a 3 1/2 hour flight to Australia.  We will have a two hour time zone change.  Our new tour director will meet us at the airport and escort us to our hotel.  We have a group dinner at the hotel tonight.
Tomorrow we have a city tour in the morning and then will have the afternoon and evening free to do what ever we choose to do.  Tuesday we have a full day tour and will only have the evening free.  Wednesday we fly to Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef.
Over halfway through this adventure.  I am a bit homesick this afternoon. I am craving the peace and quiet of my little corner on the prairie but not missing the very cold I hear is happening back home.  The sun was shining today on our long bus ride and it warmed up into the middle 50’s.  Warmer temperatures await us in Sydney.
The flight seemed short.  We both got through customs and immigrations smoothly.  We were met by our tour guide and promptly taken to the hotel.  We have a dinner in 20 minutes.  I am tired and cranky tonight and ready for a good night’s sleep.  It has been a long travel day today.
Grateful for the sunny forecast for the next two days in Sydney, grateful for a safe travel day, and grateful for this adventure.
