I am tired. We almost filled the dumpster today. Jason, Cody and Dylan came and helped Jim and I throw stuff into the dumpster. I think it is safe to say all of us are exhausted tonight. It was a beautiful day to spend outside this afternoon carrying load after load of junk into the dumpster. So grateful that part of the job is done.

When I got to the house at 12:30 today the guys that hauled off the grain bin were there. They were looking for parts for the bin. They found some of what they were looking for. We didn’t find any more pieces when we were cleaning the yard up today. They took some things out of the garage – I told them anything they wanted to haul off they could have.

Jason and his family came over to our house for dinner after our work day. I grilled hamburgers and hot dogs to go with the deviled eggs, potato salad and baked beans I fixed earlier. It made for a quick and easy dinner. I made Jason Eclairs for dessert and sent the pan home with him.

Cody, the four-year-old helped us gather eggs. He picked one up and immediately cracked it open. He didn’t quite understand the concept of putting them into the bucket and bringing them up to the house.

Needless to say I didn’t get a nap today and I am tired this evening. I will do my best to stay up until at least 9:00 but may not make it. My bath with Epson salts will feel especially relaxing this evening. I’m not used to lifting and carrying so much stuff.

The dumpster is 2/3 to 3/4 full. We didn’t get the garage torn down so will wait to call them to come get the dumpster until we get that project done. We got all the big pieces into the dumpster and still have a bit more room. I’m glad I got the 40′ dumpster though as we would have run out of room in a smaller one.

Tomorrow I hope to go in and start the kitchen paint job. I have to go to Emporia for a 1:45 haircut so may not get started until I come back from town. We will see how sore I am in the morning and what my energy level is.

Something is wrong with the clutch on Jim’s car so we will have to have it towed to the shop tomorrow to get it fixed. Glad it broke in the driveway and not somewhere inconvenient.

It feels so good to have the big garage and old garage both emptied and most of the yard picked up. We got a good start on getting the place cleaned up today. It feels a bit overwhelming though to realize how much more work we have to do to get it fully into shape. One step at a time – one day at a time. Slow, steady progress wins the race.

Grateful for Jason and Dylan’s help today, grateful to have family over for dinner, and grateful for the beautiful work day.
