It has been a rainy, cool day at Camp Hutch. There were thunderstorms off and on all night. Lots of standing water in the yard. The rain has continued off and on all day.
I struggled with sleep last night. The first night that has happened since I have been here. I stayed up to listen to the loons and bull frogs. They play a symphony of music all night.
This morning after a late breakfast we went over to Hazel’s sisters house. They fed us homemade from scratch tomato soup. Yummy! Her family has accepted me with loving open arms.
We came back to Camp Hutch mid afternoon. Both of us are taking some quiet rest time
I had hoped to go kayaking one last tine today but need the rain clouds to move out before I can do that.
Tomorrow morning we will catch the bus from Bangor to Portland. If the weather cooperates I hope to spend the afternoon on the beach. We will spend the night at Hazel’s niece’s house and they will take me to the airport early Tuesday morning as I have a 7:00 flight to Chicago.
Sounds like a heat wave came through back home while I have been gone. Can’t say I am sorry to have missed it. It has been nice to have to put a sweatshirt on here to stay warm enough.
Looking forward to returning home Tuesday afternoon. I miss my wide open space.
It has been a wonderful restful week for me. I can see why Hazel loves this place and space. I will leave her in her loving family’s hands. They take good care of her.
Grateful for the love that Hazel’s family has shared with me this week, grateful for my house sitter this weekend that took good care of my place and critters and grateful for the special time I have had with Hazel.
