Went to church this morning. There was only one service at 9:30. The associate preacher had a good sermon today.
After church we went to Tulsa to the Gilcrease Museum to see a special Doretha Lange exhibit. Today was the last day for it. She became famous for the pictures she took during the depression. Some of them made me cry. They were powerful!
Jim drove my new car to Tulsa. I don’t think he likes it. I had to turn off the change lane indicator and the power eyesight cruise control. They kept singing to Jim and were driving him crazy. He didn’t like all the bells and whistles. He complained most of the way to Tulsa. I spent the trip looking up how to turn things off for him. At one point we thought we were getting a warning light about the power steering system but it wasn’t that. I had to laugh at him. I saw a side of him I have never seen before. Change doesn’t come easy to him sometimes.
I drove home and the trip was much easier although he wanted me to drive in the left lane as it was smoother. We missed the turn to Stillwater and had to go a different way home which pissed Jim off. He was talking about the church and forgot to tell me to turn off. We made it home even though we had to come a different way than he had planned. Oh well!
We stopped at a place called The Tavern and had a hamburger for a late lunch. It was a bit pricey but the burger was good. A touch fancy for my simple taste but I was hungry and it hit the spot. Not sure we will need dinner tonight as we didn’t have lunch until 3:00.
Tomorrow afternoon we meet with the preacher to see about her availability and the church’s availability. We also have to meet with the preacher four times before she will agree to marry us.
Tuesday I am going to Strong City for the night and than coming back to Stillwater on Wednesday after my doctor’s appointment in Wichita Wednesday afternoon. I’m meeting Tim, Ellexia and Jason for dinner Tuesday night. It will be a quick trip home.
Thursday I have my first tax class. Sure hoping the classes are productive and will make things easier this year. I will have to learn the differences between KS and OK state returns.
I’m going back to Strong City the weekend of the 18th as I need to be in KC on the 18th to meet Nicole for an appointment. Not sure if Jim will go with me that weekend or not. It will probably depend on how the cat is doing. She seems to have forgotten how to use the litter box consistently and he doesn’t want to make the house sitter clean up pee all day.
It was another beautiful day in Stillwater. Mid 50’s and bright blue skies. It has been a very mild winter so far. I did see where Wichita got a bit of snow a day or two ago. Thankful we missed it here.
Grateful for photography that tells stories that we can’t forget, grateful for a car manual that kinda tells us how to operate the car, and grateful for a safe trip to Tulsa today.
