Went to church this morning. They held worship in the Fellowship Hall for some reason. It felt much more informal. Today they served communion and celebrated baptism vows. It was a nice service.
Jim sends out a holiday letter each year and got them out last week. In his letter this year he mentioned our engagement and upcoming wedding. We got lots of congratulations today before and after worship.
Two of the choir members have been to Disney World several times. Jim mentioned I am taking Ellexia this summer so both of them were giving me hints as to where to stay, etc. I looked up prices today. Ouch! It is expensive to stay at a Disney property and the tickets alone are astonishingly expensive. How do big families afford to go?
We took a one-mile walk this afternoon. It was a bit windy and cool but not bad. I had taken my sweater off before I put my coat on and I am glad I did as I would have been too hot with a sweater and my coat. All of the snow we got yesterday has already melted. It is to be in the low 60’s for the next two days.
Ellexia text me the football game score as the game was played today. She had almost given up on the Chiefs before they got their act together and came back big and won.
Tomorrow starts my tax class. It is from 9:00 – 3:00. I have been told we break for lunch but in the letter I got that isn’t mentioned. I’ll play it by ear and go with the flow. We are to take laptop computers with us but I didn’t bring mine from KS. There are a few in the library so hopefully I can get on one of those and follow along with the teacher. Sure trusting they will walk us through some returns.
Looked up OK marriage license requirements. Found out they cost $50 but if you attend a premarital counseling for at least four hours they only charge $5 for the license. We have counseling with Jim’s preacher scheduled so maybe that will count. They don’t require a blood test or a waiting period but the license is only good for 10 days and we both have to be present to sign for it.
Once we get the date officially firmed up I want to find a photographer as I want some family pictures. Jim’s choir members all want to come to the wedding so guess we will have a little bigger ceremony than I had planned on. I’ll also need to line up a cake, punch, etc for a small reception afterwards. I am going to plan a bigger reception in Strong City sometime this spring for my friends back in KS. I can’t ask them to drive three hours to come to the wedding.
My cranky mood was gone this morning. I am grateful. I hadn’t felt that blue and down for a long time. Little things bugged me all day and I was tempted to over react to those little things. Grateful I was able to stop myself and go quiet instead. I need to do some journaling and see if I can figure out what set me off besides the full moon. Maybe I don’t need a story and can accept that something old and dark moved through me. All is well today!
Grateful for all the well wishes we received today, grateful for Ellexia’s Chiefs updates, and grateful my cranky mood is gone.
