Went to church this morning.  They only had one service today at 9:30.  I especially enjoyed the preacher’s sermon this morning.

Took a nap this afternoon as I didn’t sleep very good last night.  Only slept for about an hour but it sure felt good.  Feel much better this evening as a result of getting some extra sleep.

It has been windy and cold today.  We missed the snow KS got but it sure felt cold enough to snow here.  I have add to add a couple extra layers today to be able to stay warm.

Thomas came over for dinner tonight.  I fixed roasted chicken, Brussels sprouts and baked potatoes.  The chicken wasn’t quite as good as it was last week but it was OK.

Didn’t get much done again today.  Am almost finished knitting a twin sized blanket. It was too cold to work outside today.  Jim went through a closet and a dresser drawer and found some clothes to throw out and has a big box to take to Goodwill or some similar donation place tomorrow.  Have many more dresser drawers to go through but it is a start.

Katy, the 18 year old cat, seems to be feeling a bit better.   She actually ate her dinner tonight.  We are taking her to the Vet tomorrow afternoon as she had some blood in her urine yesterday.  She sleeps most of the time under a lamp and sitting on top of a furnace vent.

Tomorrow Thomas is coming up to help Jim put the storm windows back up.  Hopefully that project will go fairly smoothly and they can get them all back up.  I have some more detail cleaning I would like to get done if Jim is working outside.

I need to run to the grocery store tomorrow and pick up a few things.  We have been eating lots of leftovers and trying to get the refrigerator cleaned out.

Thomas goes back to Washington, DC Tuesday morning.  It was nice having the sons here for the holidays but it will be nice to get back to our normal routine too.  We don’t have any plans for New Years Eve.  We will probably celebrate in our quiet way here at home.

My feet felt a bit better today but both are still a bit stiff and tender.  They are very sensitive to touch and have been hanging them over the end of the bed at night as they yell at me if the blankets touch them.  I keep reminding myself to be patient with them but my patient quotient seems to be running low.  Wednesday will be eight weeks out from the last surgery so hoping improvement will come shortly afterwards.  The swelling was a bit better today so that is good news.

I thought I had brought several paperback books with me but can’t find them.  I must have left them on a table at home.  May need to borrow Jim’s library card and go get something to read.  I hate buying new paperbacks when I have piles of them at home I get at the library book sale for next to nothing.  I miss having a book available to read.

Grateful for Sunday afternoon naps, grateful for a nice dinner with Thomas and Jim, and grateful Katy is feeling a bit better today.
