I woke up with a start this morning. I thought the realtor was coming in 5 minutes. I quickly showered and got dressed. When I came out to the living room I realized it was Sunday and she is coming Monday. Darn it anyways. Oh well, it got me up and awake quickly.
Kathy is working hard in the yard cleaning up around the new sidewalks, It sure looks nice where she has gotten cleaned out. Now we need to backfill a bit but not sure what to use. Any landscapers out there that can advise us? There is anywhere between a two and six inch drop from the sidewalk to the ground that needs filled in with something.
I heard the dogs barking this afternoon. It sounded like an alarm bark so I went out to see what was the matter. I didn’t see anything but it was hot so I brought the dogs inside. When we rounded the front of the house the dogs spotted a huge dog running loose at the end of the block. They both took off at a dead run. I got pulled a bit and finally had to let go of the leashes as I was not going to be able to keep up with them or pull them back in. Not sure how I managed to stay on my feet.
The dogs ran to the corner where they met up with the big dog. Thankfully all they did was smell each other. Along comes another big white dog. They smelled each other but didn’t get in a fight. I yelled for the dogs to come back and they did! I was proud of them. I put them in the house.
Not sure if these dogs run loose a lot or if they just got away from their owner. I didn’t see if they had a collar on or not. Even when dogs are friendly, they can cause problems. So very grateful I didn’t get pulled over and go down.
This has been another quiet day at home. I haven’t done much again today. It is nice to have two back to back stay at home days to recover and recharge in. I have a big day coming up Tuesday and will need extra energy for that.
Tomorrow the realtor is to come in the morning. I’m not sure if I will have papers to sign or not as I haven’t heard if the buyer accepted my counter offer. Hoping I will find out tomorrow. After she leaves, I am going to Olpe to pick up my 1/4 of beef. I will take half of it to a friend’s house and then stock my freezer up with the rest.
Tuesday I go to KC and take Nicole 3/4 of the beef and then I go to KU for the mental acuity test. It will be good to see Nicole for a hot minute.
I need to remember to call and get a hair cut appointment some time this week. My hair has reached that point and needs to go. Hoping I can find a time after exercise so I don’t have to make two trips to town in one day.
I need to find a contractor to do some foundation work. I have some floors that have a pretty steep slope to them and need it propped up from underneath. Anyone know of someone that does that type of work? I don’t know where to start to find someone.
This week may be interesting with the finalizing of the sell of the rental house. Trusting we can make a deal and continue with the closing on Friday. That would be easy for me if that were to happen. If they back out of the deal, I will have to find suppliers to do some work on the house and then list it again. This house has been a thorn in my side since I bought it in 2015 and I am ready for it to go away.
One of these days I need to clean my old car out and transfer things to the new one. Not sure when Kathy is going to turn her car in. I think she has until the end of September before she has to turn it in. She is done paying off the lease so no real reason to turn it in early.
I ordered a new K-Tag for the new car. I need to inform the car wash place of the new tag number and new car next time I go to town with the new car and have time to stop to do that.
Grateful for a quiet day at home, grateful I wasn’t hurt when the dog event happened, and grateful for the work Kathy is doing in the yard.
