It has been another quiet day at home. I relish the weekends when I get to stay home for two days in a row. I did take Sophia for a long walk this afternoon. It is cooler out and she was able to walk for over a mile today without panting too hard.
I did a bit of cleaning again today and some laundry but most of the day I didn’t do much. It is nice to slow down and rest and be quiet.
I sat outside for about five minutes this evening. I have turned the A/C off and house is a bit warm tonight. I got bitten about five times by mosquitoes and had to come in. I am going to have to take a bath soon to quiet down the bites. I itch all over now. The mosquitoes hadn’t bothered me all summer until tonight. They made up for it tonight.
Tomorrow I have to be in Emporia by 9:45 for my annual physical. I doubt that it will take more than 30 minutes. I kinda laugh at the word physical as the doctor will barely touch me. He gets to chart it as a physical and will get reimbursed for more than a normal office visit. Oh well, I will check that off my to do list for the year and go on with life.
Tomorrow afternoon a guy is coming to look at the foundation to see if there is anything they can do about the big slope in the corner of the dining room and my bedroom. I don’t know about this type of thing but thought I would get it looked at. Have no idea what can be done and how much it might cost. The house is almost 125 yers old so thinking the original foundation is overdue on needing some propping up.
Tuesday I have to go back to Emporia for a haircut. That will be fun as I enjoy the conversation I always have with the guy that cuts my hair. It feels a bit like a counseling session to be honest.
Wednesday and Friday I go in for exercise. Grateful I am down to twice a week now instead of three times a week. I will have to remember to do the video at home on either Monday or Tuesday.
I will need to stop one of the days and get a few groceries. Friday I will need to get the stuff to fix dinner on Sunday when all the kids are coming home for a family day. Still haven’t decided what to fix. I asked them for ideas but no one had any. I’ll figure it out – sooner or later.
I’m going to make a couple phone calls tomorrow and try to find a different management company for my remaining rental. I just don’t trust the lady that is handling it now. Not sure how to find someone but I will make some calls and see what I can find. If all else fails, I will manage it myself.
Feeling a bit ungrounded tonight. I need to find somethings to add to my calendar as too much free time is not always in my best interest. I still struggle to balance between lots of empty space and having too many things to do. Right now I have too much empty space.
Grateful for two stay at home days this weekend, grateful for the cooler temperatures, and grateful for my quiet life.
