No pain pills yesterday!  So far none today although I almost took one during the night.  My foot felt like a weather indicator and ached before the rain finally came and gave me some relief.

My other foot has a black and blue mark on the side where I keep running over it with the wheels on my scooter.  Maybe I should be wearing my tennis shoe on that foot to protect it.  When I put ice on my surgery foot I have been leaning the good foot against the ice to calm it down.

Jim went into Emporia to go to church this morning and run some errands afterwards.  I decided not to try church as it has lots of steps to get into the sanctuary and I am very unstable on crutches yet – especially doing steps.

Am working on doing some laundry.  Figured out I can pull the dirty clothes basket while I am on my scooter.  Have the intern’s bedding washed up.  Jim had carried it upstairs for me.  Now working on my laundry.  At least I feel like I am getting something done.  I mainly sit in my chair and do some embroidery work and look at all the things I wished I could be doing.

Not sure what we are doing this afternoon.  Jim was hoping to get outside and sand on the deck.  He is going to get some boards in town and replace a couple on the front steps.  Guess I will stay inside where it is cool and sit and watch.

My neighbor told me about her internet provider.  I called the provider and they did an evaluation and decided I qualified for their service.  They are to send me some paperwork to complete and when they get it back will schedule an install.  I trust this new service will be more predictable and faster than my current service.  I can’t watch movies now as they spend more time downloading than playing.  Tim is selling boxes that act like a cable box for a one time charge.  Jim enjoys watching the news and I would like to have a TV for him to be able to do that without having to purchase cable vision.  Crossing my fingers that this solution will work.

Still haven’t heard from the second solar panel company.  I need to get a second bid to make sure that the first company is in the ball park with their estimate.  I’ll try to call them again Monday and see if I can get hold of them.  The glass company hasn’t bothered to call me back yet either.  I don’t have anything else to do Monday so maybe I can get things moving on both of these issues.

Getting bored with sitting but knowing that is what my foot demands right now.  It is starting to itch a bit so I know it is healing.  I look forward to Wednesday when I can get the dressing changed and see what it looks like.  I can tell my toes are black and blue.  They don’t look as swollen as they did after surgery.  Swelling slows healing down so doing my best to stay off of it as much as possible.  If I am on my scooter too long it starts to ache from hanging over the scooter.

Grateful for the healing power of ice, grateful for my scooter that allows me to get around fairly easily, and grateful for all the care Jim is providing me.
