It warmed up a bit in the mountains today – got to mid 60’s. We haven’t had any rain today and it has been partly cloudy. Still don’t have a good view of the far mountains as there is a haze over them.

Jim and I took a nice walk this afternoon. I had a bill I needed to mail so we walked down to the admin building and dropped it in the mail. I haven’t been out walking since I got C-Diff the middle of June. It felt good to stretch my legs. We will go for another short walk this evening after dinner. I will work my way up to some longer hikes.

I was surprised I wasn’t gasping for air in the thin mountain air. It usually takes me a week to adjust but I don’t seem to be having trouble this year. I have noticed my heart rate is faster than it runs at home. I only got down to 47 overnight and usually I drop to 40. Daytime I have been running in the mid 60’s and at home I run in the mid 50’s. Part of that may be due to the higher altitude but my TSH levels are low right now and that can cause a faster heart rate too.

I have some green chicken cooking in the crock pot for dinner. It sure smells good. I have started eating yogurt twice a day and so far it seems to be going down OK. I need to go to the grocery store tomorrow and get some more. I like the plain Greek type and I add fresh strawberries and Rice Chex to it. I may get some frozen fruits to mix in too. Makes a nice breakfast and a good lunch.

It has been another quiet day in our cabin. I took a long nap this afternoon. I have been doing some knitting and doing a lot of reading. It is nice to not have anything that needs done. I don’t feel guilty doing nothing all day long.

I am really enjoying this quiet time away. No real plans this week. We did get a Bear Lake Access timed entry pass for tomorrow afternoon at 4:00. I was five minutes too late getting on the website to get a pass for earlier in the day. It is frustrating to not be able to go up Trail Ridge Road anytime you want to. The park is over run with tourists and they limit entry during the day. I love driving over Trail Ridge road so we will go for a nice drive tomorrow afternoon. We will stop some where along the way and take a short hike. I guess parking is a problem most of the time so we will see what happens. Flexibility is a good thing to have up here.

Jim filled the car up with gas yesterday and had to pay $3.89 a gallon. Wow! That is $1 higher per gallon than we pay at home. It cost over $50 to fill the car up.

My house sitter sent me a picture of the bill from the guys that did the drainage work in the back yard two weeks ago. It was more than Jim expected but less than the worse case guess. I hate spending money on work that you can’t see but it sure will be nice not to have water leaking in the basement. I sure hope this fix worked. Not sure what will need to be done if it didn’t work.

The handyman let me know he got the two traps installed in the drain pipes under the house. Neither the laundry drain or the bathtub drains had traps in them and the sewer smell was coming up into the house. Yuck! I am so grateful he could get those installed. Sure hoping we are coming to an end of things that are wrong with that house. I’m not making much money on it yet.

No bathroom runs today! No cramping today! It has been a good day. Maybe I am finally over this round of C-Diff and will keep my fingers crossed it won’t come back. I still have a couple more antibiotics to take so we will see what happens when I am done with them.

Grateful for a beautiful walk on the grounds of the Y Camp today, grateful for my handyman, and grateful for this quiet time away.
