Got some painting done today and most of the kitchen cabinet doors are hung. Yay! The kitchen walls all have their second coat on them. One of the bedrooms is half painted with a first coat. Sure seems like slow progress but at least it is progress. The kitchen looks nice with the cabinet doors back on. I still need to attach the knobs to the doors.
I am sore and tired tonight from painting for five hours today and two hours last night. It seems to take me much longer to paint than it used to and I don’t recover as quickly afterwards.
The grass in the yard is getting tall and we need to get after the yard work at the rental house too. We need to run a rake through the yard and pick up the last of the trash that was laying here and there and everywhere in the yard. There is a lot of branches and things growing that need cut back. It is going to take some hard work to get the yard looking nice.
Tomorrow I hope to go back in and paint in the bathroom. I need to paint where the new vanity is going to be placed as well as the new light fixture and medicine cabinet. That isn’t a big area so it shouldn’t take me too long to do it. The handyman is going to be working at the house tomorrow but he is working in the laundry room so I think I can stay out of his way.
The guy that was to have delivered the refrigerator this afternoon got behind schedule and postponed the delivery until Tuesday. I don’t have anything on my calendar for Tuesday other than my guests so the change in date works for me.
Tomorrow I deliver eggs and then am having lunch with a friend. I need to remember to boil some eggs to put in the refrigerator in the guest kitchen so my guests can enjoy some hard boil eggs. I have an abundance of them and I will appreciate getting rid of some. I may even make them some deviled eggs and see if they will disappear too.
I need to run into Emporia tomorrow and pick up a toilet paper holder, a towel bar, a flood light and a kitchen faucet set. I’m trying to stay ahead of the handyman so he doesn’t have to stop working and go to town for things we need. I sure hope we are getting to the bottom of things we need. The budget is busted and I am in the red on this project.
Jim teaches his last OSHER class in this series tomorrow afternoon. His next class doesn’t start until the end of June so he will be a bit freer to get some things done. Our list of projects seems to be growing. He needs to get down to Stillwater and work on that house too.
I need to call the door people and find out if the screen for my screen door has come in yet. They ordered it over a month ago. It is to be warm tomorrow and I can’t open my south door until I get the screen fixed.
Tomorrow night is full moon night. Last night we sat out on the deck and watched the moon shadows on the prairie. The burned areas have already turned green and the hills are especially beautiful right now.
Grateful for the painting that got done today, grateful for Jim’s help in hanging kitchen cabinet doors, and grateful for the beauty of moon shadows on the prairie.
