I forgot to write last night after Jim came. We had one hell of a thunderstorm blow through. We got some marble sized hail with it. The thunder was so loud one time I almost peed my pants it scared me so much. We sat out on the front porch and watched it rain until the wind picked up and we were getting too wet. My weather app says we got two inches of rain. I still have standing water in my back yard this morning. More rain is in the forecast starting this afternoon and going through the night.
Not sure what our plan is for the day. We were going to work on painting and sanding the deck but thinking that won’t happen due to the wetness. I’m sure we will figure out something fun to do together.
I got two more rooms detailed clean yesterday – the office and the entry hall way. I am halfway done with this project but some of the biggest rooms are still on my list.
I got the bid from Pella windows to replace the window in the master bedroom that has a broken sash. Installed the price is $580. Wow! Glad I only have one window to replace. I signed the bid and returned it. Not sure when they will be coming to do the install.
The electrician is coming Monday around noon to replace the breakers. The ones I have now are 30 amp but wired with 20 amp wiring. I hate spending money on things like that but was told they are a fire hazard.
I ordered a replacement screen for my south facing screen door off the living room last Monday. I haven’t heard when they are coming to get that fixed. The cats have torn a big hole in the screen. The door people ordered a stronger more flexible screen that might help prevent the cats from destroying it so fast.
Sometimes it is hard to keep up with this house and all the little things that seem to go wrong with it. I get overwhelmed with it all sometimes.
When it dries out again I will need to mow the yard again. It is too wet this morning to do it. Jim was going to trim it for me but not thinking that will happen this weekend.
Grateful for the rain the prairie received last night and that I had no damage from the high winds and hail, grateful repairs are getting done around here, and grateful Jim is here for a few days.
