It has been a quiet day around here today.  I got up before 8:00 to see my guest off.  He didn’t get to go for a bike ride this morning as the weather was not good.  We had a thunderstorm roll through with some sharp lightning and lots of rain.  He left around 8:15.  He was driving back to Virginia.  I think he was going to stop halfway today.

I did four loads of laundry today but not much else.  Jim and I took a two and one half mile walk this afternoon.  It was a beautiful day for a walk although a bit windy. We worked getting the steps ready to be sanded.  Jim is replacing a board or two on a step.  Getting closer to getting this project wrapped up.

Craig got married today.  I am happy for him and I really like his new wife.  I wish them years of happiness together.

Tomorrow will be a busy day.  The grandkids are coming in the morning.  We are going to Marion Lake for a family reunion at noon.  I need to fix some food to take in the morning.  I have two guests coming in Sunday afternoon.  The grandkids are spending the night so I will need to drive them to school Monday morning early.  Kathy is headed for Massachusetts Monday morning.  My guests will go back to Salina late morning Monday.  Jim will go back to Oklahoma Monday afternoon.  I will have lots of beds to change linens on Monday afternoon.

Tuesday I am going to Kansas City.  I am having lunch with some dear friends, have an eye appointment in the afternoon, doing my quarterly Costco run, and then ending the day by having dinner with Nicole’s finance’s parents and Nicole and Geoff.  I probably will leave around 9:00 and won’t be home until after 9:00.  It will be a long day but a fun one.

Wednesday and Thursday I will be stuffing a Newsletter for Pioneer Bluffs.  Friday I am headed to Oklahoma for ten days.  Thinking this week will fly by quickly.

I am having trouble remembering it is October.  This year has gone by so quickly and this month will fly by too.  Four years ago I was in the home stretch of my Camino walk to Santiago,Spain.  Two years ago I was recovering from having my thyroid out and finding out they found cancer in it.  This year I spent the day with Jim and Kathy.  Things change so quickly in my life.

Grateful for a quiet day at home, grateful for new beginnings, and grateful for the peaceful beauty of the prairie tonight.
