Jim got home around 9:15 last night. It was good to have him back home again. I fixed him a ham and cheese omelet for dinner. When you are late for dinner you get what is easy to fix.
I went in this afternoon and painted for two hours. Have the kitchen and dining room done except for touch ups. Only have the living room left to finish. All rooms will have some touch ups that need done but thinking I will find touch ups that need fixed until the day I rent the house out.
I painted for a bit outside today. I think I like the color. I am not liking how the paint is going on. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or if it is just the material I am covering. It is easy to get drips and it is taking a quick second coat. I had paid extra and got the one coat coverage paint. Thinking it wasn’t worth the extra dollars if I still need a second coat.
Tomorrow I am going to have to mow in town and not paint. The grass has gotten high with the rain we got. There is a lot of trimming and pruning that needs done around the property too. I hate to stop painting and take care of that but it needs done.
I saw the handyman briefly and he confirmed he is going to start work on the house again Monday. He has some doors to trim down to fit in the bedrooms and then he can start working outside. The first priority is replacing siding pieces on the house so I can get them painted. The roof on the back room is another priority item. There are some overhang boards that need replaced and then I am thinking my budget will be busted and his work will be done. Not sure how long it is going to take him to do what is on the list. If it goes faster than I expect it to I may find some other projects for him to complete.
Came home from painting and put some green chicken in the crock pot for dinner. Not sure what I will fix with it yet but will decide that closer to dinner time. Grateful Costco had chicken tenderloins again so I could fix this easy dinner.
We got some thunderstorms overnight and this morning. It was a beautiful afternoon but the clouds are starting to roll back in. We are in a rainy pattern right now with showers expected off and on for the next week. We need a big spring rain to fill the pasture ponds. It interferes with my painting project though.
I am going to have so much free time again when this rental house project is done. I have some painting projects that need done at this house I may get to finally. The chicken coop needs painted and we have never finished our deck project. I am becoming a professional painter – good thing I work for free though as I am not sure my work would past muster if someone was paying me for it.
Still sitting with some anxiety about the new mask recommendation that those that are vaccinated can quit wearing masks. The non-vaccinated people tend to be the ones that didn’t wear a a mask anyways. I don’t trust that they will put one on now. I know if you are vaccinated you are supposed to be protected and won’t get so sick but I still have anxiety about going mask free and being around others that are mask free unless I know they have been vaccinated. I read an article about this very issue and am working on changing with the times. For some reason this change is hard for me. I’m usually pretty easy to change direction and go with things. Not sure why this one feels different to me.
Grateful Jim is home safe and sound, grateful the inside painting project is almost done, and grateful for the smell of dinner cooking in the crock pot.
