We arrived in Estes Park yesterday afternoon around 5:00 local time. We had an uneventful trip here. I slept from the CO border to Boulder so that part of the trip went fast. We stopped at a Rocky Mountain High store in Boulder and then came up to Estes. We are staying in the same cabin we did when we came last December.
Today was a relaxing day. I took another nap and slept for two hours. I think I am still recovering a bit from my trip to Maine. We did go visit with Jim’s brother and his family this afternoon and then went to the grocery store. It is simpler to cook in then to fight the crowds and eat out.
Got a few sprinkles today but otherwise it has been beautiful here. Both last night and this evening we took a long walk on the grounds of the Y Camp where we are staying. The mountain air is so fresh and clean. The wild flowers are late appearing this year due to the long winter they have had here. There is still lots of snow on the mountains.
Tomorrow Jim’s two sons arrive late in the evening. We will be picking them up from the Denver airport. Not sure what else we have planned for the day. It is so nice to just be able to relax and do nothing.
I have been doing some embroidery on another set of tea towels. I have two towels completed and a third one almost done. I also knitted a dish rag.
Grateful for this relaxing time in the mountains, grateful for a safe trip here, and grateful for the beautiful weather and beautiful night skies.
