Jim and I went into Emporia early afternoon to watch Ellexia do her gymnastic thing.  She came in third in tumbling in her class and first in her heat.  We also watched her do trampoline.  It was fun watching her perform.  She has really grown and improved since the last time I watched her perform.

We came home when she was done and had lunch.  After lunch I started painting the laundry room.  I fiinally got it finished tonight at 9:30.  We had to pull the washer and dryer out so I could paint behind them.  We managed to put them back into place without issue.  I brushed the paint on the walls instead of rolling it,  I have never painted a room just using a brush before.  I think it was slower this way.

Tomorrow I will do any needed touch-ups and paint the closet.  It will be nice to have one room painted – don’t want to count how many more rooms I have to do.

Jim has worked all afternoon and evening on his slides.  He is getting them into order of some sorts and putting them in sleeves.  It is a project he has wanted to do for a long time.  Good project to work on here.

The weather warmed up nicely today.  The snow is almost all melted.  I’m sure by tomorrow afternoon it will be all gone.  We sat outside and watched the sunset tonight.

I am sore and tired tonight.  My bath will feel good!  It was nice to move my body and get something tangible done. The laundry room has bugged me forever as the guy that painted it when we moved in didn’t pull out the washer and dryer and paint behind them.  I could always see where he didn’t paint.  I used a lighter color this time and it looks refreshed.

When we get back here for good I want to repaint every room in the house.  I have lived here almost seven years and it is time to refreshen the whole house.  Not sure what room I will do next.  I have to thinkabout doing the living room, dining room and kitchen as the ceiling is so tall.  May need to hire those three rooms to be done.

We are driving to Manhattan tomorrow morning to go to church.  Jim wants to check out the Presbyterian church there.  They have a profesisonal director for the choir and a big organ.  Church music is important to him and finding a new church with a good choir and organ is something that will make his move to KS easier.  The choir in Manhattan meets on Sunday mornings before church and doesn’t have a rehearsal during the week.  That would make it easy to only have to make one trip a week instead of two.  We’ll find out tomorrow if he likes the church and the preacher.

It feels like we have had a productive weekend in KS.  We have to go back to Stillwater Monday.  Sure looking forward to the 20th of April when I get to come back and stay here more than I am in Stillwater.  I miss the priaire when I am gone.

Grateful to have gotten to watch Ellexia today, grateful the laundry room is freshly painted, and grateful I get to take a hot soaker bath in a bit.
