Got the inside of all the cabinets painted. Am in the process of filling the cabinets back up. They sure look better already.
We went to Lowe’s and Jim picked out some cabinet paint. I will start painting the cabinets either after dinner tonight or tomorrow afternoon. I wanted to pick the wall colors too but we didn’t worry about that today. Trusting we will find some that will coordinate. Picking colors is one of the hardest part of remodeling.
We took a four-mile hike this afternoon. It is in the upper 60’s and perfect walking weather. Lots of other walkers with dogs on the hike around Boomer Lake today. My feet held up and didn’t yell too loudly during the walk.
Jim is going to get the dishwasher in place tonight. It is so nice out he has had trouble staying inside to work on it. Hoping tomorrow he will get the new cabinet and microwave installed above the oven. We have so many projects going on it is hard to keep focused on just one project.
Jim’s birth certificate finally came in. He had ordered it sometime in November. It is the first step he needed to complete so he can apply for a passport. I’ll try to talk him into calling sometime next week and getting a passport interview. It can take up to two months to get a passport once he gets an interview. I don’t know how far out he will have to wait to get an interview. He needs to get his passport before we can start planning a trip overseas we want to take in late August or early September.
The wedding is seven weeks from tomorrow. Still don’t have a dress but have four more ordered. One of the ones that I have could work if it had to. My shoes should be in next week as well as at least one of the other dresses. I won’t panic until the first of March if I haven’t found the right dress by then.
The rest of the wedding invitations should be here Tuesday. We will get those addressed next week and get them out. I wish I had a few more reception invitations as I have thought of a few more people to invite but I sent all that I had out. I may order 10 more.
I am sitting here looking at all of the extra stuff Jim had in his cabinet and thinking about all the dishes I have in mine back home. I need to rearrange my cabinets and store the extras somewhere else. I use all 16 plates I have several times a year but they don’t need to be at hands reach all the time.
One of the projects on my to-do list is to repaint the inside walls at our house in Strong City. I was going to do that this winter but then decided to winter in Stillwater instead. I am getting practice painting and will have lots more to do when we get back to Kansas full-time in April.
I sure like having big projects to do here. It makes the days go by faster and I feel useful. I love seeing the difference it is making in the kitchen. I wasn’t sure we would be able to get the kitchen done before the wedding but am thinking we will now.
Grateful for a beautiful day, grateful for a four-mile hike, and grateful the inside of the cabinets are painted.
