I am stringing together a long stretch of not doing anything days. Starting to give me a bit of anxiety I think. I do better when I have tasks to do during the day and accomplish a bit of physical labor.
David and his girlfriend left for Berkekey late morning. I wish them safe travels. They traveled three days to spend three full days here and will have three travel days to get home. It was wonderful meeting his girlfriend and seeing David again.
We went to Boomer Lake and tried to take a walk. My foot wasn’t having it though so only walked about a mile. It swelled up again when we got home. Dang it! Need to remember to stay patient a bit longer and let it continue to heal before I push myself walking. I only set it back when I walk too far and it swells again. I am seven and one-half weeks out from surgery. Maybe in another week or so I will be able to start pushing it a bit.
Thomas came over this afternoon to pick up his Christmas presents. He is packing a big box that will need to be shipped to him as he doesn’t have enough suitcase space to take everything back in. He stayed and visited for a bit.
Jim took a nap after David left this morning. Jim had stayed up late last night and was worn out. Glad he got some extra rest. It has rained most of the day and was a good day to take a nap. I’m tired tonight and probably should have laid down for a bit myself.
Katy, one of Jim’s cats is sick. She has blood in her urine and is having trouble getting to the litter box. She is 18 years old and doesn’t act very energetic right now. Jim text the Vet this morning but we didn’t hear back from her. He has had her since she was a baby so it is like a member of his family is sick. All she seems to want to do is sleep. She isn’t eating very well. I’m gad we are here in Oklahoma so he can be with her right now.
Finished knitting the baby blanket I had started several weeks ago. Have a twin sized blanket 3/4 done. Now that I know the church here will take prayer shawls I will work on getting lots more made so I can get rid of the yarn I have on hand. When I go back to KS for my doctor’s appointment I will bring more yarn so I can get a bunch made up. I love to empty totes.
Had some left over scalloped potatoes so heated them up, added cubed left over ham, and then added some eggs. It turned out good and got rid of some left overs. Tomorrow I need to come up with something fresh to eat for dinner. We have been having lots of leftovers. We ate the left over taco meat from last night for lunch today.
JIm and I are working to come up with a wedding date. It seems complicated with our schedule and looking at our five kid’s schedules. Ummm… may need to come up with Plan B. If we get married in Stillwater we will plan a reception of some sort in KS and will reverse that if we get married in KS. He has a preacher here that he wants to perform the ceremony so will have to see when she is available and if she would travel to KS. His sons will need to fly in regardless of where it is at and my three kids are all in KS. Maybe we just need to pick a date and leave it up to the kids to make it work. Not thinking we will have many guests other than family. We will do a reception of some sort after the ceremony that guests can come to.
Still not sure I have wrapped my head around the fact that I will be getting married sometime in 2020. I’ve been single for almost five years. Kind got used to being single. It will be a huge change for me but one that I welcome.
Grateful for a rainy day, grateful for visits from Jim’s sons, and grateful Christmas 2019 is over!
