August went by in a hot minute. Can’t believe it is September tomorrow. The last half of this year is flying by.
I went to Emporia late morning. I needed some groceries. Since I didn’t go to town yesterday I had to go today to get them. I also stopped and got the new car washed and enrolled in the club. I try to remember to go through the car wash every time I am in Emporia. It didn’t do a very good job today but it should do better next time. If I remember to go through a couple times a week the car stays pretty clean.
While I was in town today I got some new pajamas. The ones I have been wearing are about six years old and I noticed the other day they are starting to get holes in them. I found some today I liked so picked some up. After six years it was time!
A friend of a friend is going to be walking the Camino starting mid September. She had some questions and called me today. We had a lovely conversation. She has not booked her rooms in advance and is hoping to be able to make reservations the day before on the fly. I sure wouldn’t want to do that but I think she is on a budget and thinks it will be cheaper this way. I loved knowing I had a room and dinner and breakfast every night without worry.
This afternoon I reread my blog from the days on the trail. What an adventure that was. So many life lessons learned and experienced. It was by far the best thing I ever did for myself.
Ellexia texted me today. She got her homecoming dress but it needs hemmed. I told her I would try to do it and if I couldn’t I would check with some friends of mine that are excellent seamstress to see if they could help me out. Not sure when she is going to bring it to me. Homecoming isn’t until the end of the month but I am hoping she will bring it sooner rather than last minute.
I was surprised I slept last night. I had slept most of yesterday. I was able to sleep most of last night too. Not sure why I crashed so hard yesterday but am feeling much better today. Sometimes my sleep deficit catches up to me and my body says SLEEP. Grateful I didn’t have much on my calendar yesterday and I could honor what my body needed.
No plans tomorrow or Monday. They will probably be stay at home days. I always have housework that needs to be done if the mood strikes and I want to do something. The weather is to be nice so I will probably get out and take each dog for a long walk at some point.
Sitting in a good head space tonight. Reading the blog about my journey put a smile on my face. I still don’t think I have fully accepted the fact that I walked 500 miles over mountains, the plains and more mountains. I ended the trip with a week in Paris with my sister. Hard to top that adventure again in this life time.
Grateful for my blog and the memories it holds for me, grateful my groceries are restocked, and grateful for this beautiful fall like weather.
