Got the office deep cleaned this morning. Found lots and lots of dirt on the floor. Still need to dust all the bookcases but the hard part is done. That room seems to get the dirtiest of all in the house. We use the sliding door in there to go in and out a lot and seem to track lots of dirt in with us when we come.
The handyman came this morning and finished sanding the sheet rock he put up yesterday. After it dries a bit more the walls will be ready to paint. That will give me a project for a day or two next week.
I went into Emporia late morning to get Tim and Michelle a few groceries. The Health Department called them while I was shopping. They found out neither Tim nor Michelle have to quarantine since both have been vaccinated. If they develop any symptoms they have to get tested immediately. Tagen has to quarantine for 14 days. Ellexia has to be quarantined for at least 10 or until 48 hours after she is symptom free. Michelle can work at her day job. Tim is taking time off with pay to take care of Ellexia and Tagen.
Ellexia looked good today. She is still running between 100 and 101 temperature and has a cough but doesn’t feel too bad. Sure trusting she will have an easy course of this. The next three or four days may be telling. We will see what happens.
Since I was in town I dropped off the two boxes of stuff I had taken out of the pantry at the Salvation Army. Good to have those gone and out of the house.
Took a nap this afternoon. I didn’t sleep very well last night and was still tired. I feel better now.
It isn’t quite as hot of a day as the last several have been. We are partly cloudy and it feels like a thunderstorm might be brewing. We sure could use the rain. The cracks are wide and deep in the yard.
Now that the dusty part of the sheet rocking is done I can start cleaning downstairs. I will try to get one room done a day next week. I wash all the floors by hand, scrub the woodwork, and look for things that can go away.
Had to call my plumber yesterday as the handyman discovered our booster pump is leaking – again! We just had it replaced earlier this year. Not sure why it failed again. The plumber is getting a new one ordered and will bring it out when it comes in.
I picked up 10 eggs when I went down at noon to gather eggs. One of them was cracked so the girls got to eat that one. I am having trouble getting enough eggs to meet my customers demand. Won’t be long now before the girls start to molt and the egg production will drop to one or two a day. I had to buy store bought eggs for the kids today as I didn’t have enough to share. I hate the thought of eating a store bought egg.
Feels good to be getting my house deep cleaned. Jim keeps saying the house isn’t dirty but I can sure tell the difference when I clean. I love having a very clean house but rarely go to the trouble of cleaning it thoroughly often enough. The wedding in September is giving me the motivation to get it done. Hoping I can find more stuff to give away before I am done. When I get to the storage room I have some totes to go through and I know I will find a bunch of stuff I am ready to part with then.
Still not sure if Jim is going to Stillwater next week. He needs to go but seems to have trouble getting there. We will see what happens.
Grateful Ellexia is doing OK so far, grateful the sheet rock project is completed, and grateful another room will get crossed off my cleaning list by the end of the day.
