Another night of little sleep. Man, this gets hard after several days of little sleep. Sure wish I knew the cause and had a cure.
I walked Sophia this morning and Kathy walked Roxy. Sophia finally did her business. She was in a mood to sniff and smell and follow her nose most of the walk. It is hard to walk her when she does that. My shoulder is a bit sore this afternoon from her pulling on the leash this morning.
I went to a friend’s house mid morning and helped pack some things. I brought home some papers to shred and several boxes to drop off at the Friends of Library book sale. I’m so grateful my move is over and I am on the other side of all that work. It is very rewarding when it is all done but it is tons of work.
I took a short nap in my chair this afternoon. I don’t feel very rested yet but I knocked the hard edge off. Maybe tonight I will sleep long and hard.
I haven’t started getting ready for family day tomorrow. I want to make a dessert this evening and do some house cleaning. I have a tendency to put off house cleaning too long and then I don’t get it all done. Hopefully, no one will notice! I do need to go out to the shed and get a table and four chairs to set up so everyone will have a place to sit and eat.
I have managed to get two loads of laundry washed and dried. I don’t have them folded and put away yet though. I haven’t had much energy to do much yet.
It is another hot one today. The ground has a lot of water on it and when it warms up, the humidity is high. I need to remember to have Geoff and Jason look at my lawnmower tomorrow. I ran it out of gas when I was mowing earlier this week and now I can’t get it to stay running. It will start and then it stops quickly thereafter. Wonder what I did to it?
Geoff is trained in landscaping and is going to look at my yard and tell me what I need to do to fix the bare spots and around the new sidewalks. I have more weeds than grass in the yard and need to fix that too. I don’t know about keeping town yards. I only know how to mow. I may need to hire someone to help me fix the bare spots if it is very complicated.
So looking forward to tomorrow and having all the kids here. We haven’t had a family day in a long time. I think we were together mid April for one but haven’t done so since. We were all together at Craig’s memorial service and celebration of life but we were rather distracted then and didn’t get good time together.
Looking forward to my trip to KC Tuesday and having lunch with some dear friends. It has been a very long time since we were able to make that happen too. It will be good to get the paperwork to transfer this house deed from the LLC to my personal name taken care of too. One more thing I can cross off my pending list of things to do.
Other than being tired this has been a good day. I have been able to hold myself above neutral all day. Any day is a good day when I can do that. I love finding ways to be in service to others. I feel more productive on those days.
Grateful for a short nap this afternoon, grateful to be of some help to my friend, and grateful tomorrow is family day.
