The electrician came today to change out the breakers.  I thought it would take a while but he was only here for five minutes.  Glad to have that task crossed off my to do list.

Jim went back to Stillwater this afternoon.  He will be back on Friday.  He has to teach two classes for Osher tomorrow and again on Thursday.  It is always hard for me to see him driving down the driveway to return to Stillwater.  We had another fun weekend together.

I went to Emporia after Jim left to watch Tagen play in a football game.  He got to play about half of the game.  Afterwards Tim, Ellexia and I went out to dinner before I came back home.  It was good to get to spend some time with Tim and Ellexia and catch up with them.

Jim got a set of deck steps ready for me to paint so I will do that tomorrow before the rain is to return on Wednesday.  While I have my paint brush out I will do some more ladder work and get all that is ready to paint done.  Still hoping we can finish this project up this year.  Maybe next weekend it will dry out enough for Jim to do some more sanding and I can get the rest of it painted before I have surgery in November.

Tomorrow morning I have an appointment at the Verizon store to change my cell phone service off of Kathy’s plan.  For some reason she has to be there to give permission for me to go on my own plan and to be removed from her plan.  She has a dental appointment in the morning and will be done around 11:00 so can meet me at Verizon afterwards.  After I finish up the painting tomorrow afternoon I need to get back to detail cleaning the house and get that project finished up.  I am halfway done.

Pella window company sent me an email to let me know they will be coming later in October to install the replacement window in the master bedroom.  That will be another thing I will get to cross off my to do list that has been pending for a while.  I like tying up loose ends.

A friend came out and looked at my chain link fence and is going to take it down for me.  He was looking for some chain link fence for a project he has to do.  It will make mowing so much easier without that fence there.

I need to remember to call and get an eye appointment for either later this week or sometime next week.  I go to KC for the appointment and will try to coordinate having dinner with Nicole and Geoff on the day I make the appointment.  I also need to make a Costco run and stock up on some things.  I want to get the appointment done so I have time to go back and get my new glasses before I have surgery and won’t be able to drive for a bit.

The house feels big and lonely tonight.  I’m grateful Kathy is here so it doesn’t feel quite so lonely.  I always notice the silence after Jim leaves.  I’m grateful he is coming back next Friday.

Jim and I took a two and one-half mile walk last night on the gravel road.  Not bad for being less than eight weeks out from surgery.  My foot has been a bit cranky today but not bad.  I’ll keep walking more and more and work back up to six to eight miles a day.  My other foot will take me down again for November but am trusting I can work myself back up again rather quickly with that foot too.  Come spring time I want to be back in good hiking condition and be able to go ten to twelve miles at a time easily.

Grateful for the time I spent with Jim over the weekend, grateful things are getting done and crossed off my list, and grateful to have spent time with Tim and Ellexia tonight.
