We got to Stillwater last night around 11:45.  We had left Asheville at 9:30 their time Sunday morning. It was a long day sitting in the car but it felt good to get home and not have to drive this morning.  I got restless legs about two hours from home which made those two hours feel much longer.  I really enjoyed my Epsom salt bath last night and slept for over five hours straight.

We went for a walk at the lake this morning.  We probably only walked a mile or so.  I hadn’t walked much last week and didn’t want to overdue the walk as I see my surgeon tomorrow and I didn’t want my foot to be cranky for that visit.  I even used the crutches for the walk and I haven’t used the crutches much the last couple of days.

I trust the doctor will tell me tomorrow that I don’t need to use the crutches any more and that I can start going for brief times without the boot.  Wednesday will be six weeks since surgery and he had told me at the beginning to plan on six to eight weeks in the boot.  It will be weird wearing a shoe again.  I will be glad to get back on level ground again.

I have knitted a bit this afternoon and evening.  Jim is working on a sewer issue and on his classes that he is teaching Thursday.  I almost took a nap but decided against it to increase the odds that I sleep good again tonight.

I have to leave for Wichita no later than 9:00 in the morning.  After my doctor’s appointment I want to go to Costco to pick up a few things.  I also have another errand to run while in a big city.  It will be good to be back on the prairie tomorrow afternoon.  I’ll only be home until Friday when I will return to Stillwater for the weekend.

I have a long to do list of things that need taken care of this week while I am home.  Cleaning the chicken coop out is at the top of my list.  I will try to get that done Wednesday morning before it gets too hot.

I need to start my fall house cleaning as I want to get it done before my next foot surgery which will be the first part of November.  Twice a year I hand wash all the floors and wash all the wood work.  It takes me about two weeks to get through the whole house if I do a room a day.  I have most of the weekends on October booked with things to do and places to go so will only have three days a week to clean.

On my list of things to do this winter is to paint all the walls in the house.  I haven’t painted any walls since I painted them when I first moved into the house in November of 2013.  It is time to repaint and freshen up the walls.  I probably won’t be able to get that project started until after my second foot heals from surgery.  I need to get the deck painting project finished before I start the inside walls project.

Grateful for safe travels for our trip east, grateful for a walk at the lake today, and grateful for this time I have had with Jim.
