We got out of London today and traveled to Stonehenge and am spending the night in Bath. It was so nice to see the rolling hills and pastures. Too often, though, all you could see was the tree-lined road side. It was fun to spot the sheep and cattle when the tree line broke.

Stonehenge was wonderful. Such powerful energy in those rocks. I was able to find a bench with a clear site and sit in the energy. It wasn’t too crowded when we got there, although many more people were coming in as we were leaving.

We ended the day in the beautiful, quaint town of Bath. We had tickets to see the Roman Baths. Not sure I was impressed with them but I loved touring the Abby which was right next door. I sat down in a pew and soaked up the beautiful, spiritual energy of the Abby.

We had lots of time to shop and have a late lunch/early dinner before we met out group and got taken to our hotel for the evening. This room reminds me of the room I stayed in while in Iceland. It is a lovely, modern room. The best part is it is cool with working air conditioning. I didn’t sleep well the last two nights as the room was so warm. I am due for a lot of sleep tonight.

The weather today was much cooler. It was mostly cloudy this morning and partly cloudy this afternoon. I took my jacket to wear while seeing Stonehenge but didn’t need it this afternoon. I didn’t drip sweat all afternoon today like I have the last couple of days. No rain today which was a blessing.

Tomorrow we go to the Cotswold and Stratford-upon-Avon while on our way to Liverpool which is where we spend the night. We will stop and see the birthplace of William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway’s cottage. We will get a tour of Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields while in Liverpool. They are providing dinner for us this night.

Wednesday we take a long drive to Edinburgh. We will make a quick stop every two hours and one longer stop in the Lake District where we will have a unique farmhouse visit.

The bus is big and not crowded so we are able to spread out a bit. The driver seem very competent and it feels safe traveling with him. Our guide feels like he is trying a bit too hard but is OK.

I’m considering taking a taxi to the hot springs spa tonight so I can soak in the springs. I love doing that. I am really tired though so may just go to sleep instead. Once I get to my room, I have trouble getting back out.

Yesterday a few got caught up in a demonstration that was going on in Hyde Park. They had taken the Hop On Hop Off bus for a tour of the city and the bus could not get through the demonstration area so they had to get off and walk through it. They reported it was a bit intimidating for them. I’m grateful I was in the hands of the guide touring the Crown Jewels and St. Paul’s Cathedral and missed that. One disadvantage of touring alone is when you run into things like that and you have no one to help you through it. It can feel a bit intimidating to be in the midst of all that noise and chaos. I’m grateful I missed that.

Feeling like I can breathe a bit better getting out of the big city energy. Bath is a town of over 100,000 people but it doesn’t feel that big. Seeing the country side took away the closed-in feelings I was getting in London. I do need space to breathe in.

Grateful for this time away from home, grateful for some quiet space this afternoon and grateful for the beauty of the Abby today.
