This has turned into a busy day. We took Roxy to the Vet this morning. She had a dew claw that grew too long and was growing into her leg. They were able to cut it out without surgery. Roxy is on pain pills for three days and an antibiotic for seven days. She tolerated the visit well but seemed very happy to be back home again.
When we got home the plumbers were here trying to figure out what is going on with the new booster pump. They were here for over an hour checking everything out. They finally decided the pump is defective and were going to call the manufacturer and than let me know what they were going to do.
Had to go back into Emporia for physical therapy at 2:30. The guy that works with me was impressed with how much progress I am making. He is thinking I will be off crutches next Wednesday when I go back to the surgeon. My foot is a bit cranky tonight from all the manipulation he did to it today. I go back Friday for another physical therapy session.
I called the therapist in Stillwater and got an appointment with her for December 5. I’m sure I will need additional therapy and wanted to get back on her schedule and not miss a week without therapy.
We stopped and got some more groceries since we were in town. I think I now have everything I need for both dinners this week.
I made bourbon slush when we got home and have it in the freezer. It is a family tradition that we have bourbon slush for our Christmas. Jim helped me pick out the right bourbon for it this year.
When we got home a guest that had stayed with me for several weeks called and invited us out to dinner. We met him at the Grand Hotel in Cottonwood Falls at 6:00. We sat and visited until 8:00. It was good to see him.
Jim got a bit of sanding done when we got home from my physical therapy appointment. As of now we plan on staying home all day tomorrow so might get some painting and deck work done then. It is to warm up to 64 tomorrow but be very windy.
I picked up what I need to make New Year’s Cookies. I may try to get them made tomorrow. I also want to make one more batch of fudge and then my Christmas baking will be done. I got some more packages wrapped today and solved an Amazon problem I had with a missing package.
Best Buy called me twice today to reschedule the delivery of the dishwasher that was installed Saturday afternoon. They really need to get their act together!
This has been one of those days where I feel like I didn’t get much done but had no free time. Trusting that tomorrow will be a bit quieter.
Grateful Roxy is on the mend, grateful for guests that become friends, and grateful Jim was able to chauffeur me around today.
