Another day spent painting. I went in to the rental this morning a bit after 9:00. Checked out the paint supply and then went to the hardware store in Strong City to get a gallon of paint. Went back to the rental and painted for a couple of hours on the back porch.
Came home for lunch. I passed Jim on my way home. He was headed in to the rental. I ate lunch and went back in. Jim and I painted on the outside of the house all afternoon. We have most of the main part done. Still have the back side to do and the peak in the front. Then we get to paint the windows and trim. I think we can get it done this week – we shall see.
The handyman worked on replacing siding pieces today that were broken. It sure looks nice where the siding has been replaced and painted.
I picked a renter today and let them know my decision. I think they are going to move in the 30th or 31st as they start their new job June 1. We will have to push hard this week to get the back porch done but I think we can make it.
I called the electric company and they are sending someone out either tomorrow or Wednesday to drop the electric line so my handyman can cut down a tree.
I texted the door company and they are coming tomorrow to replace the screen in the south facing screen door.
I am meeting my new renter tomorrow afternoon so she can sign the lease and give me the deposit. I need to pick up a few groceries while I am in town tomorrow. I need to measure for some blinds and get those when I go to town tomorrow.
Jim went to Emporia late afternoon to get another gallon of house paint and a few other things he needed to fix the front porch wood.
I am fixing Jim a tuna and noodle casserole for dinner. I will eat some leftover chicken from last night.
Tomorrow we will be back at the rental painting again. Have I mentioned I am tired of painting? I will go in early and work for two hours then come home and deal with the screen door repair guys. Then I have to go to Emporia to get the lease signed. I will come home and then go paint some more late afternoon. Jim will go in early afternoon and work on the back room and paint too.
After we get this project wrapped up in a mother couple of weeks I think I will go with Jim to Stillwater for a good solid two weeks and help him do repairs on his house in Stillwater. He put off his trip down to work on his house to help me get this house ready. Turn about is fair play.
I’m sure the end to this project is closer than it feels. Tonight is one of those nights where it feels like we will never be done. Slowly but surely we are getting ever so close to the finish line.
Grateful for Jim’s help today, grateful I found a renter, and grateful for all the painting and repair that got done today.
