Rain, rain and more rain. It started raining around noon and hasn’t let up yet. I waded down to take care of the chickens this afternoon. My rain gauge broke so have no idea how much we have gotten. Forecast calls for rain for the next 24 hours. The rivers are already running high so thinking flooding will be bad again. I feel for the people that live close to a flood zone. Grateful I live on a hill.
I got cold and had to turn my furnace back on. I was still cold so went to bed to warm up under the electric blanket and fell asleep. I am still tired so hoping I will be able to sleep tonight. I am still recovering from my trip.
Haven’t gotten a thing done today other than chores. My motivation to do something is totally gone today. Decided to turn it into a lazy day – as if I had a choice! Working to drink lots of water and get rehydrated to see if that will help. Too nasty to get out and go anywhere.
Sure grateful I got the chicken coop cleaned out yesterday when it was nice. The girls were inside enjoying their fresh linens when I went down to gather eggs this afternoon. They gave me six eggs today. I took a dozen to Michelle yesterday as I am getting more than I can use right now. They still aren’t up to full production mode yet though. I need a couple dozen for this weekend so hoping they won’t have anything else to do during this rain and will get busy laying.
I did work a bit on my shopping list for the weekend meals I am fixing. I decided on menus and have gone over my list twice to make sure I have everything I need. I am so grateful Aunt Glenda and Uncle Jack and Aunt Marylyn are going to come over Sunday if they don’t get flooded out. I always enjoy spending time with them.
I am to go to Manhattan Wednesday and possibly spend the night. Wonder if I will be able to get there? This rain is getting a little much. Council Grove Lake looked really full when I was past it last Friday. I don’t know if that highway ever floods or not. I will check before I head out Wednesday morning.
It feels good to be eating back on plan. I really do feel better when I don’t over eat and when I eat the right foods in the right portion. Part of my tiredness is because I am getting rid of the sugar and flour that I ate while I was on vacation. It is so hard to eat every meal out as I never know what they put in food. Sugar and flour seems to slip into most restaurant foods. I remember when I first started eating the Bright Lines way. I was tired for the first four months until I finally got all the toxins out of my system. Trusting it won’t take that long this time.
Tomorrow I need to clean house for the weekend. I plan on being going Wednesday and Thursday and Friday I need to buy groceries and start cooking. Kathy will be home either Thursday evening or sometime Friday late morning. Match guy is coming up sometime on Friday. I do need to add something to fix for dinner Friday and Saturday night to my grocery list. I forgot about that.
If you know of someone that has to evacuate due to flooding and they need dry beds let me know. I have three rooms available until next Tuesday when my rodeo guys come in.
Two of my Sonos music system players aren’t working. I’ll have to mess with them to see what is going on. The lights went on and off several times before they stayed off Saturday so they might have gotten damaged. They were working last night though so don’t know why they aren’t working today. I’m not working well today either. Maybe they don’t like so much rain either.
Grateful my lights have stayed on today, grateful I have a dry house on a hill to be in during this deluge, and grateful this day is almost over!
