I got on the hot line after dinner and forgot to blog. I handled 8 callers and was getting impatient with the whiners so decided I needed to get off for the night. Luckily I didn’t have any hard texters tonight. I leveled up to Level 7. I will have to handle 500 calls before my next promotion to Level 8. I have handled 500 calls since I started last May.

It was a rest and recovery day around here today. We got woke up early as the roofers called and needed Jim’s car moved so they could position their trailer where they needed it to be. We got up and got dressed and rushed over to the new house. One of the guys helped Jim push the car out of the way.

We came home and Jim went back to bed. I stayed up and did a bit of house work. After I had lunch I went into town for a haircut. I wasn’t in the mood to stop for paint when I was done so I came straight home and went to bed.

When I came home Jim had gotten up and I went back to bed. I took a long nap this afternoon. I was still worn out from our long work day yesterday. I’m still a bit tired but am feeling better.

Jim arranged for the car to get towed to the repair shop this afternoon. He had to call a tow truck to come from Emporia to tow the car 6 blocks to the repair shop.

The roofers probably finished their job today. When Jim was there mid-afternoon they were almost done. I’m anxious to go see the house now that they have finished and most of the yard is picked up. It will look even better when we get the dumpster out of there.

I had left overs for dinner – Jim had a frozen pizza. He enjoys pizza and is good about eating it when I fail to plan dinner. He doctors it up and adds lots of jalapeño peppers, onion, olives and cheese.

I baked Jim a batch of Snickerdoodles after dinner tonight. I needed to see that I had done something today other than nap.

I was going to go paint this morning but decided I didn’t want to hear the roofers pounding on the roof all day long so I didn’t go in and paint. I am hoping that tomorrow I can get it and get that project started. Jim said he would come in and help me get the cabinet doors removed.

It reached the mid 70’s today. The wind was a bit brisk at 22 – 28 MPH so it didn’t feel as warm as it was. I only needed a sweatshirt when I delivered eggs around noon today. It is to be warm again tomorrow and then go down to the 50’s for several days. Spring is still deciding when it wants to come and stay.

Other than taking trash to the curb I don’t have anything on my calendar for tomorrow. Jim will teach another class on Thursday and I have my scheduled hot line shifts Wednesday and Thursday nights. Otherwise we have our normal, quiet week going on. Hoping it will be a good week to get lots of work done on the new house. That project feels big to me right now and if I can get a room or two painted it will feel more manageable to me.

Thursday will be two weeks since our second vaccine. The new guidelines say we can now gather with other vaccinated people. What a relief that will be. Maybe I need to schedule some dinners with friends so I have something to look forward to. It was so nice having Jason and his family out yesterday and not being so worried about getting sick.

Grateful for a haircut, grateful the roofers did a great job, and grateful for long afternoon naps on a recovery day.
