A rainy day on the prairie today. It was sprinkling when I went down to do chicken chores this morning. The sun took the day off and it has been damp, cloudy and cool all day.

I called the electric company that provides service at the new house and reported the tree that is hanging over the power line in the back yard. I left a message so not sure when or if they will react to the call. I also called the door company to ask them to fix my screen door and the door to the metal shed at the new property. I haven’t heard back from them either.

I delivered five dozen eggs to my regular egg customers around noon today. Jim wanted me here when the internet guy came so I didn’t stay in town to paint. The guy showed up and spent about 15 minutes doing a diagnostic check on the system. He replaced the router box again. The new one was a lemon too. Not sure if the problem has been fixed or not but we will see what happens. The printer issue did not get fixed although I didn’t expect that to happen.

We went to town after the internet guy left. We stopped at Bluestem and got 200 pounds of chicken feed and 50 pounds of dog food. I also got some keys made for the new house so I can give my neighbor a key so he can get started on doing some work. The guy that made the key didn’t seem to know what he was doing and made me four keys when I asked for two. I’ll have to try the new keys to see if they work. He said I could bring them back if they don’t.

We then went to Walmart and got some groceries and other things on my list. I got a few more things for our Easter Thanksgiving Dinner. That list is now down to just veggies and perishables which I can’t buy until it is closer. Came home and got everything unloaded and put away. I then took a nap. Every time I go to town I come home exhausted. Wonder how long that is going to happen for?

Jim had fish sticks and tater tots and I had salmon and sweet potato fries for dinner. It makes for an easy meal.

Tomorrow we are driving to Stillwater to pick up two loads of stuff from Jim’s house. I’m taking four dozen eggs to another regular egg customer that lives in Matfield Green as we will go by her house on the way out of town. Not sure what we are going to do for dinner when we get home but will figure something out. Think I will stop by Wendy’s tomorrow in Stillwater and have chili for lunch. That will be a treat to get take out. We haven’t done that for over a year.

The dumpster guy is to come pick up the dumpster tomorrow. I am grateful it didn’t rain too much today as he has to drive through the yard to pick it up. It will be good to go to the house and not see the dumpster in the yard.

Wednesday the furnace guy is coming in the afternoon to fix the water leaking from the furnace. We are to get our stimulus money on Wednesday if it comes as promised. It will just go into savings until we need it to pay our state estimated tax. Money comes in and it goes right back out.

I didn’t get any more painting done today. I am a bit stiff and sore from my fall yesterday but am doing better this afternoon. I don’t like to paint when I am tired as I don’t feel like I do a good job painting when I’m not at my best. I won’t get any painting done tomorrow since we will be gone all day so hoping Wednesday I can get back at it.

Wednesday I will need to call the electrician if I haven’t heard from them by then. They have had the bid for a week now and I want to remind them to get that job scheduled. Other work is being held up until the electrician can get his work done.

Since I took a nap I will probably get on the hot line tonight. I checked last night and they didn’t need more help – at least when I checked. Anytime there is a mass shooting they tend to get busy and it sounds like something happened in Boulder this afternoon. It makes me sad every time there is a mass shooting.

Grateful for the additional rain we got today, grateful the internet may be fixed, and grateful for naps that restore my soul.
