I had trouble finding much sleep last night. It was one of the worse nights I have had for a long time for sleeping. I even had trouble finding sleep this afternoon when I tried to take a nap. Wonder what is up with that?

Went to the investment property and worked for a couple of hours this afternoon. Have a huge pile of filled trash bags, a big stack of donations and recycling and found a couple items to keep. I have most of the stuff in the house sorted although I still have to go through some more things on the back porch. Progress.

I went through each room and made a list of things that we will need to do to each room. That helps me prioritize and sort in my mind what needs to happen next. Jim worked outside and found lots of recycling stuff as well as trash. He found a few treasures to save too. He took two car loads of stuff to the recycling center already and has more to take.

I called the plumber, electrician and furnace people. I have a confirmed appointment with the furnace guy but the other two will call me when they can come. I also called and found a dumpster and got details on ordering that. Jim decided after working this afternoon that we could get a dumpster sooner than he thought so tomorrow I will call and get one ordered to be delivered for later this week. We can keep it for 30 days at a set price. That should give us enough time to get the outside cleaned up.

Some people came this afternoon and took away some furniture that had been left in the house. They found a few other things they could use and took too.

Once everything is emptied out of the house I can start with some minor repairs to the walls and start prepping for painting. We need to wait until the electrician is done before I can paint though as not sure what is going to need to be done to fix the electrical systems. I’ll probably start in the kitchen and get the kitchen cabinets cleaned good and then I can start painting them.

I have a car load of stuff to take to the Salvation Army tomorrow. I still have more donations to load and take away but my car got full. Trusting others can benefit from the stuff we will give away.

I have some hamburger thawed for dinner tonight but not sure what to make with it yet. Jim likes to eat after the sun goes down so haven’t gotten to fixing dinner yet. It is so nice that it is getting dark so much later in the day now. In two weeks, with day lights savings time, it will really be late when the sun goes down. I like to eat no later than 7:00 so we will have to compromise soon and find a time that works for both of us.

We got 26 eggs today. I delivered two dozen eggs today to a regular customer and ate three for breakfast so only down one egg from what I ended up with yesterday. Maybe I need to fix something using eggs for dinner most nights to use some up.

Thinking about having a clean up the yard party next weekend and inviting friends and family over for the weekend. Work on filling our dumpster and I will feed you in return – sound like a plan? I think the clean-up will go much faster than Jim anticipated it will. If he had a couple of people with strong backs to help him lift and carry it will go very fast.

We have a connectivity issue between our computers and printer. Most days we have to reboot the printer and router before it will print. What causes that and how do we fix that? It is a pain to have to do that constantly. The guy I used to use fix my computer issues is no longer available to help me out and I don’t know who to call to come help us out. It is so frustrating when things don’t work the way they are supposed to and I can’t figure out how to fix them. Is it the printer? Internet connection? Our computers? Why can’t they play nice and get along?

It has been a beautiful day on the prairie. Temperatures were in the mid 50’s and we had bright blue skies all day. It was a touch windy but not too bad. Spring is definitely in the air. The sunset tonight is a plain Jane one as there is not a cloud in the sky. I saw smoke in the air today from prairie fires burning around the area. Burning season has begun.

Tomorrow I go to town to pick up my taxes and to get my teeth cleaned in the afternoon at the Vo-Tech. I forgot to call and get a haircut appointment so will have to make another trip to town to do that at a later date. I’m sure I will have another load of things to donate to take to town later in the week anyways.

Thursday Jim is teaching his first OSHER class this year. He has been putting in hours of work to get the class ready as this is the first time he is teaching this particular class. He enjoys doing the research to putting the classes together and loves to teach. This class is on the history of the Great Plains. He will have a second class going that starts in another couple of weeks but that class is one that he has taught the subject matter before.

Grateful that the great clean-up project has begun and is going fast, grateful for a friend that shared a contact so I could find a dumpster, and grateful for the beauty of the sunset on the prairie tonight.
