Today has been a rest and recovery day. We did take a mile and one half walk this evening but that is about as ambitious as we got today. I even took a two hour nap today even though I slept well last night.
Went to Hobby Lobby and got some embroidery floss. I hadn’t been in a Hobby Lobby for a bit. We walked around and looked at all the decor stuff they have. Looked more like clutter than something I wanted to buy though.
Fixed ham and beans in the instant pot for dinner tonight. I sure like using an instant pot. Clean up is easy and it doesn’t heat up the kitchen. It is nice to put something on and not have to tend to it while it is cooking.
Tomorrow afternoon we will drive to Strong City. I plan on stopping in Emporia on the way home to get groceries. We will probably eat in Emporia for dinner as I have no idea what food is in my house at this point. I’ve been gone for almost three weeks and was gone the week before this trip.
Wednesday I have to take Roxy and the two cats to the vet for their annual visit. I scheduled it so Jim could help me take them all in together. After we get that done we will take them home and then turn around and leave for KC. We have an appointment in KC at 2:00.
Thursday Jim will come back to Stillwater. I have a long list of things I need to get done before my foot surgery on August 7. Jim will be back up August 6 so he can take me for surgery on the 7th. It will be a long almost two weeks before I see him again. I might come down next week for two or three days but I’ll have to see how I am doing on getting caught up at home. I will have limited mobility for six to eight weeks after surgery and need to get some things done. Jim has a lot he needs to get done too as he will be at my house for two weeks after I have surgery.
I’m sorry this vacation is coming to an end. It has been wonderful. I am grateful the heat has dialed it down a bit today and the forecast calls for a bit of a break from the 100 degree plus days the prairie had been experiencing. It is only going to be in the low to mid 80’s for the next few days.
I do look forward to seeing a sunrise and sunset again. I miss them when I am gone.
Grateful for a restful day today, grateful for the time I have had with Jim, and grateful I will get to sleep in my own bed tomorrow night. There is no place like home!
