Another busy day on the prairie. I had physical therapy at 1:00 in Emporia. We left a little early so I could drop off some fudge and New Year’s Cookies to Chad. After physical therapy we stopped at the bank to cash two checks. We than went to Walmart to get cat food. I picked up a prescription at CVS and we headed home.

Shortly after we got home the Pella Window Guy showed up to install the seal in the window they had replaced several weeks ago. It didn’t take him very long. He forgot to put the screen back on but I knew how to do that so I didn’t have to call him back.

I have hamburger soup in the crock pot cooking for dinner tonight. It sure makes the house smell good.

The Newsletter isn’t done yet. It still may get done so I can work on it this evening. If not, I won’t get it until mid morning tomorrow. I won’t be able to get it all done for them but will get as much as I can done.

I need to start pulling out some things to pack. I have a doctor’s appointment December 17 so we plan on coming back here for one or two days either before or after that appointment. It will give me a chance to pick up anything I forget so packing doesn’t feel so overwhelming right now.

We still need to go drop off a big pile of recycling. I have been dumping my containers and storing them in the garage so have about three normal trips worth of stuff to take. Jim was going to take it but decided to wash his car instead. We will take it when we pick up the Newsletter either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Got my first electric bill since I had the solar panels installed. It was only $43. A normal bill would have been well over $125. Trusting this summer when the sun shines longer I will see even more savings. My minimum bill each month is $35 regardless of how much electricity we generate. Didn’t need much of their electricity- I like that!

Got the bed Tagen used made up today. Still have some more cleaning that I would like to get done before I leave Wednesday morning and the house sitter comes.

I checked all the critter food supplies this morning and all I needed was the cat food so we didn’t have to make a big feed haul today. Will need to check it all again the 17th and see what we need then.

It has been a beautiful day on the prairie. Mid 50’s and sunshine and the best part has been little to no wind. It is to be nice again tomorrow so Jim hopes to finish sanding the steps and get them painted. I will be working on the Newsletter so he will be on his own to get them done.

My foot continues to improve. I got to 15 with my toe extension today. You only need 10 to walk comfortably, My balance was good this time – last time my balance was really off after surgery. Not sure if that is because I am left handed and that is my strong side that was operated on the first time. Whatever it is I am grateful I didn’t lose my balance so easily this time.

I start physical therapy in Oklahoma on Thursday. Will probably have two to four more weeks of therapy to do. He has been working a bit on my left foot too as it still gets stiff and sore. I can see progress with both feet.

We are going to stop at the New Balance store in Wichita Wednesday after my doctor’s appointment. Jim wants a new pair and I need to see if I can find a pair that will be comfortable for the next six months. The pair I have now I have worn non-stop for almost a year and they are starting to wear out. I have to continue wearing my tennis shoes for six more months before I can start wearing cute shoes again. Good thing I don’t really care what I look like – I totally go only for comfort these days.

Grateful for soup cooking in the crock pot for dinner tonight, grateful my errands got finished, and grateful for this beautiful day on the prairie.
