Jim left for Stillwater around 1:30 today. He is coming back on either Friday or Saturday. I have a long, quiet week ahead of me. Hope to get lots of deep cleaning done. Jim was a bit nervous leaving thinking about what I might throw away while he is gone. I promised not to throw away any of his junk or treasures.

I gave away my two Christmas trees and a sack of ornaments this morning. Jim has a tree and we don’t need three of them. Feels good to have freed up three totes in the storage room.

I found two totes of stuff from Mom. I thought it was old paperwork that I could get rid of but discovered both totes were full of old photographs from mom’s childhood and lots of old family pictures of my siblings. Dang it anyways. Jim was delighted with my find. I don’t recognize most of the people in the photos. Next time I see my two Aunts I will have to show them the pictures and see if they recognize who they are. Maybe my cousins and siblings will want some of them.

Got the sheet rock painted yesterday. The bathroom paint matched so I don’t have to paint the whole bathroom with new paint – yay! Now Jim needs to get the woodwork trim put back up and that project will be complete. He worked on the woodwork preparing it before he left. I think it needs to be varnished before he can put it back on. Maybe it will get done before the wedding in September.

Ellexia continues to run a 100 – 101 temperature but is eating and drinking well. She had bad leg cramps this morning. Not sure if that is another side effect of Covid or if she is getting dehydrated. Running a temperature for several days can cause dehydration. Good thing her mom is a nurse and keeps a close eye on her. Tagen continues to show no signs that he has gotten Covid.

Tomorrow I need to go to Emporia and go to the bank and pick up a few groceries. That may be my adventure of the week. Feeling the need to tuck back in and not be out unless I need to be. Way too much virus spreading in the community right now and very little mask wearing happening. Good think I like to stay home.

It is partly cloudy today but I’m afraid all the rain went around us again. The cracks in the yard are getting seriously deep and wide. I watch where I am going as I’m afraid I will break my ankle in one of them. It is hot and muggy out today – not a good day to have to work outside. I need to remember to water our flower beds this evening after it cools down a bit.

Feels weird to sit in this big house by myself. The house always seems to grow big when I am home alone for an extended time.

Grateful more stuff found a new home, grateful Ellexia continues to heal and recover, and grateful for this quiet, empty space.
