Went into Emporia first thing this morning to have my blood drawn.  I had to wait to eat until I got home as I was required to be fasting when they did the draw.  Made a quick stop at Walgreen’s  to pick up a prescription and then went to Walmart to get lettuce for the chickens and veggies for myself.

Still need to run into Cottonwood Falls to go to the bank and drop off recycling stuff.  Nothing else on my agenda for the day as I got the bedrooms put back together again yesterday.

We moved the baby chickens into a dog crate and set the dog crate inside the coop fencing with a tarp on it yesterday.  The babies seem to be liking their new digs.  I will move them into the big house Tuesday night.  Trusting by then all will play nice and the babies will survive the transition.  Last time Michelle brought out a baby to integrate into my flock it died within six hours.  Don’t want a repeat of that!

It is a beautiful day on the prairie although very windy.  The wind is to blow in a thunderstorm for Wednesday and Thursday.  I’ll take the rain and tolerate the wind if it helps make the rain happen.

Got another night booked for June.  I will have another full house for several nights during the first ten days of June.  Nothing yet booked after that though.

Made a shopping list for Wednesday.  Also got my packing list started.  I had a discussion with the girl who drew my blood today about packing.  I told her I would only take a carry on bag for the 16 day Italy adventure.  She told me she had four full closets of clothes plus more in the basement.  I told her I only own six shirts and six pants right now.  She said she was going to go home tonight and fix a bag of clothes to give away.  Sure glad I broke the habit of shopping and having too much stuff.  Life is simpler with less stuff!  The house is a lot easier to clean too.

Need to find something productive to do today.  I have been sitting for too long again.  Ellexia came out and played for a bit yesterday afternoon.  It was fun having her here as I hadn’t seen her for a bit again.  Tagen was at his dad’s house so he didn’t get to come.  Maybe this summer I will see them more.

The full pink moon last night was breathtakingly beautiful.  My guests have reminded me how lucky I am to live where I do and I have a front row seat to Mother Nature’s show each evening and morning.  I listened to a podcast yesterday.  The speaker said to help your body heal a trust issue you need to watch a sunset three times a week and be fully present for it.  No wonder so much healing can happen in this space.

I leave for Italy a week from tomorrow.  Don’t think it has sunk in yet but I am starting to get excited about the trip.  I love exploring new places and pushing my boundaries by being in new places.  I always learn something about myself.  Trusting the lesson will be gentle this time.

Grateful for getting the baby chickens out of the house, grateful for Ellexia and the fun we had together, and grateful for a day full of empty space so I can refill my soul.
