Guest one of three arrived yesterday afternoon. He is the nicest young man. Had a wonderful, deep conversation with him this morning. Very considerate, wise beyond his years and a delight to have as a guest. Guest number two should be here sometime this afternoon.
Other than doing my laundry I haven’t gotten anything done yet today. As soon as my guest gets here and gets checked in I want to go for a thirty minute walk. Time to start moving my body again. It is to warm up to the low 70’s by late afternoon. There is little wind today so I need to get out and enjoy the day.
I was asleep yesterday before 8:30. Not sure why I get so tired in the evenings but I seem to lately. Woke up at midnight but was able to get back to sleep and slept off and on the rest of the night. I have a book I wanted to finish reading last night but couldn’t stay awake enough to read it.
Have gone 10 days now without losing any more weight. I lose a pound, gain a pound, lose a pound, gain a pound over the last 10 days. This is the longest I have gone since I started Bright Lines Eating without permanently losing a pound or two. Going to stay the course and trust my body will start releasing weight again soon.
Didn’t get the two sacks of books to the Earth Day Celebration yesterday. It was too cold and wet to take them. I will put them in my car and either drop them off at the library in Emporia or see how many I can fit in the free library box in Strong City.
Got the results of the Echocardiogram. Most of it was normal although I have one thing that was abnormal but it is a grade 1 so not serious yet. Sounds like the treatment is more walking exercise and possibly taking a beta-blocker. Haven’t heard the results of the Holter Monitor yet. Good news is I haven’t had any more episodes of Atrial Flutter. Maybe this was all just a kick in the pants to tell me to start moving my body more.
Kathy helped me give the two baby chickens fresh linens yesterday. I will be glad to get them outside later this week. Think I will put a tarp on the dog pen and set the pen inside the chicken pen and have the baby chickens hide out in the dog pen for a couple of days. It might help their transition to the big house go smoother. They sure seem small and I am not sure they can hold their own with the big girls and rooster.
Our guest enjoyed watching us change their linens yesterday. He said it reminded him of visiting his grandmother’s house.
Empty space for me most of the week. I may do the Pioneer Bluff’s Newsletter if it gets printed this week some time. Other than that I have lots of empty space. The house is clean so I don’t have any cleaning to do other than refreshing the guests bedrooms. That doesn’t take long. Need to find a project to do.
Time to start a packing list for the trip to Italy. It will be here soon. Not sure what clothes I need to buy so need to give that some thought. I did order two pairs of trail pants and a raincoat this weekend. Trusting they will fit although I think I have time to return them and get the right size if they don’t. Need to do a Costco run while I am in KC too.
Enjoying the beautiful sunshine today and the spring temperatures. More rain is to come in later this week so better get out and enjoy it while I can. Feeling like I have slipped back into my peaceful, quiet valley. I am full of joy and contentment today.
Grateful for the conversation I had with my guest this morning, grateful for empty space and the feeling of contentment, and grateful for this beautiful space I get to call home. My guests help me realize how beautiful this space really is.
