Slept good for about two hour last night. Woke up and thought it was time to get up. After being awake for four hours I finally got two more hours of sleep.
Went into Emporia after I had breakfast this morning to get groceries for the weekend. Remembered to get a switch plate to cover a hole in the wall for a room downstairs. That has bothered me forever and I finally got it fixed! I kept forgetting to write it on my to do list. Not sure why I remembered today as it still wasn’t on my to do list. Also remembered to get a step on trash can for the laundry room. The cats get into the other kind and for some reason thought today to try a step on type. Sometimes I am a bit slow!
Did some laundry today and some more cleaning. My guest is to be here around 4:00. Jim hasn’t left yet so not sure when he will get here. I want to bake a batch of cookies when I finished blogging. Other than that the house is guest ready. I didn’t get all the rooms detailed cleaned but they are clean enough for now. I am the only one that knows they aren’t as clean as I would like them to be.
It has rained off and on most of the day – more off than on. It is only 55 degrees out right now. I am bundled up in a sweater and a long sleeve shirt and jeans. My body does not yet like this cooler weather. Not sure what I will have to wear this winter when it really gets cold.
I am fixing ham and beans in the instant pot for dinner tonight. Once Jim lets me know he is leaving I will know when to start them. They take less than an hour to fix in the instant pot. Since I will have the oven on to make cookies I’ll probably fix him some corn bread. I can’t eat it as it has both sugar and flour in it. He likes it so will fix it for him.
Ellexia let me know her hamster is missing this morning. She told me when she woke up his cage was open and he was gone. Trusting the cat and dogs didn’t eat him for breakfast. I trust he will be found and returned to the safety of his cage. That would scare me to find him. I told her to check inside her shoes and under her dresser – she said she looked there already.
I keep getting reminders from FaceBook about my Camino walk four years ago. I was on the final home stretch at this time as I arrived in Santiago on October 11. That trip is one of the best things I have ever done in my lifetime.
Jim named my feet Gertrude and Matilda. I could have bitch slapped Gertrude last night as she whined all night long. I finally took some ibuprofen and she calmed down a bit. Sitting all day yesterday was not a good thing for her. She has yelled at me for being active today but as the day has gone along she is quieting down and getting back used to me moving.
Best get to baking my cookies so I can have the mess cleaned up before my guest gets here.
Grateful Jim is coming soon, grateful the house is guest ready, and grateful Gertrude is calming down again.
