Another productive day today after sleeping for almost 8 hours last night!  Wow!  So that is what nights are for.  Who knew?

I cleaned the chicken coop out today and gave the girls fresh linens.  I had cleaned it out a little over a month ago so it wasn’t too dirty.  This will be the last clean out until spring.  I add fresh straw monthly during the winter and don’t remove the old stuff.  That gives them a bit of insulation against the bitter cold temperatures.  The spring clean out is a big pain though as the shit piles up all winter long.

I voted in Cottonwood Falls today.  I am only the 22nd voter so far.  Didn’t have to make choices on people running as there were only one person per position on the ballet.  I did have to choose on the amendment issue.  I had done my homework and knew which way to vote on that.

Dropped off a bunch of recycling material and than came home.  Worked some more on my taxes and got them as complete as I can at this point.

My real estate partner got my house listed on Willow as a rental. Trusting someone will need a short term lease during the time I want to be gone.

Made another batch of Chex Mix.  Wanted to get the boxes of cereal out of the way in my pantry.  Trying to get as much as I can done early before surgery.  Chex Mix freezes well and it is nice to have that job done.  May bake a batch or two of cookies tonight or tomorrow.  Jim is a Cookie Monster.

My guest was out most of the day.  He came in a bit ago but I haven’t seen or heard from him.  I need to catch him and make sure all is well.

It turned out to be a beautiful day on the prairie today.  Warmed up to the mid 50’s but the best part of the day was no wind.  I had to shed my coat while I was out cleaning out the chicken coop.  It is to be nice the next two days and then turn cold.  We are to have a hard frost Monday night with chances of snow for Wednesday and Thursday.  Not sure I am ready for winter yet.

I have decided to have a Thanksgiving Day ham dinner and invite friends and family.  If you don’t have a place to go on Thanksgiving Day please come join me.  We are eating at 1:00.  No turkey and dressing but there will be plenty of other food.  Give me a heads up if you can come but if you decide at the last minute come on out. Call if you need directions.  Bring a side dish if you want to but it isn’t required.  I love a full house for Thanksgiving and would love to have you join us.

I sent an application to Oklahoma AARP to see if I can be a tax aide for them next year.  I enjoyed doing them a lot last year and would love to be able to do them again next year.  I’ll see if they get back to me.

I have been enjoying a long stay in my peaceful valley of life.  It has been a while since I fell into the muck pond.  I am grateful!  Things seem to be falling into place for me and solutions to problems arrive almost before I am aware of the problem.  Love when that happens!

I have been able to get back on the Bright Line eating plan fairly easily the last few days.  My body sure feels better when I eat on plan.  It will take me a bit to lose the 10 pounds I gained.  I am a slow loser but I know it will eventually come off if I stick to plan.

Grateful for another beautiful KS sunset tonight, grateful the girls have fresh linens tonight, and grateful for a long sleep last night.
