I got a very good night’s sleep at last! It felt so “normal” to sleep most of the night. Maybe I can learn to sleep again!
I went to the new property early afternoon so I could meet the person who is taking the grain bin and get the cash from her for it. I’m glad I went early as she showed up early. She and her fiancée are going to start taking it apart tomorrow. It will be good to have that gone this weekend.
While I was waiting for her to show up I carried lots more stuff from the yard and the outbuildings to the dumpster. The yard is looking better already. Jim and I are planning on going over tomorrow afternoon and doing more work and Jason is coming to help us Sunday afternoon. By then we should be almost done with filing the dumpster. Yay.
I had expected the roofers would come back today and finish up the job but they didn’t show up. Trusting they will show up Monday and get it done.
Jim and I went to Sutherlands after I came home from Cottonwood Falls. We got two ceiling fans with light fixtures that will be hung in the living room and one of the bedrooms. I also got paint for the kitchen cabinets and walls. Trusting I will like it when it gets up. I did tell Jim I don’t have to live with the colors so it won’t matter if I don’t like it anyways. Jim got some materials to start building the chickens a shaded porch for their coop.
I took a long nap when we got home from town. When my body decides to sleep that is all it wants to do. I’m still tired tonight. Trusting I will sleep again tonight. I could get used to sleeping at night.
I fixed white chicken chili in the crock pot before I went to Cottonwood today. I was glad I had made it as I slept so long this afternoon. It was nice to have dinner ready when I got up.
Took a few calls on the hot line last night. I was starting to get impatient so signed off a bit early. I got on tonight and handled a few calls. I may get back on when I get done writing. I’m working to get promoted to Level 7 and am less than 10 callers away.
A friend is stopping by tomorrow and picking up 14 dozen eggs to give away for me at a volunteer work day Pioneer Bluffs is having. It is nice to have the refrigerator cleaned out again.
My local straw farmer is coming by tomorrow to bring me 10 bales of straw. It will be nice to have fresh straw. What I have now is pretty old and got damaged before Jim built my straw rack. Not sure what time she is coming so will have to get up early and be ready for her. Farmers tend to work on earlier schedules than I do.
Tagen was going to come help us clean up tomorrow but he got a better offer of something to do. He was so sweet and made sure I would be OK if he didn’t come. He said he could help during spring break so we will have him out then.
We have another quiet week next week. I have a haircut Monday afternoon and Jim will teach his class Thursday afternoon. I’m sure I will spend lots of time painting and cleaning at the new house. Hoping the electrician will get his bid to me so we can get that project scheduled and completed next week. I can’t do anything in a few of the rooms until he gets his work done.
We are over one week out from our second vaccine. My arm finally stopped hurting and my headache is gone. Last night I read that you are 95% protected two weeks out from your second vaccine. What a relief it is to know that it is safer to be out and about now.
It is to be in the mid 60’s this weekend so it will be a beautiful time to be outside cleaning up the yard. We didn’t get any rain last night – it came close but missed us. We sure could use a couple of inches as everything is so very dry. Lots of grass fires are keeping the local fire departments busy.
It is nice to see slow, steady progress happening on the new investment property. Hoping by the end of the weekend most of the clutter will be gone and the yard will look clean. I hope to get started painting kitchen cabinets this weekend so the transformation inside can start to happen. Still a long ways to go but progress can be seen.
Grateful for sleep, grateful for progress on the new investment property, and grateful for the help of my family.
